Same here, there’s a commercial on the radio that says in-teg-ral and it just sounds so wrong to me.

inT - e - Grel

Like with "integer", the 't' is an integral part of the first syllable of integral. The middle syllable is soft, quick 'short e' sound.

I was sitting next to a native Hawaiian on a flight to Honolulu, and asked, "How do the natives pronounce these islands. Is it Ha-wa-ii, or Ha-va-ii?"

He said, "Havaii".

I said, "Thank you."

He said, "You're velcome."

Looks like most of us agree on the pronunciation - bowl’s seems to have a more southern ending than I’m used to but pretty much the same

It depends.

If describing one part of a whole - in-teg-ruhl

If discussing as the part of calculus - In-teh-grul
