I didn’t mean to come off as anti-rescue if I sounded that way. I’ve got nothing against rescues but essentially the reason I’m pursuing a purebred Golden is because of the wife and I’m not gonna win that battle 
I’ve always grown up with labs but she’s dead set on a Golden.
I’m in Colorado or else I’d seriously hit up you baws from Bama offering some help. The search is in the early stages still so there’s really no rush, besides I gotta prepare the hit my wallet is going to take.

Go get one from the local humane society - plenty of dogs out there that need a good home. Don't support puppy mills when there's plenty out there already that need a good home.

Grandkids, with help from my daughter and son in law, adopted a rescue golden. Great dog was found in New Orleans after Katrina and ended up in Atlanta at a golden retriever rescue organization.
