Nope. As of right now, anything over 6.5% has to be sold in liquor stores.

Druid City makes some really good beers. Black Warrior makes a lot of crap.

Good People in Birmingham is top notch.

I think we've finally gotten our first, which is shockingly bad for a town like Oxford. I think we should at least have 2 or 3 by now. It's one of the things I appreciated about Fayetteville is really the beer loving community. Drank plenty of good beers up there.

It really is cool that almost all of the breweries are actually located on or very near the main bike trail. We've talked about doing a British style pub pedal starting at Tanglewood and ending at Apple Blossom. If you consider that Hog Haus actually sells Saddlebock brewed beer, you could hit:

Tanglewood
West Mountain
Hog Haus (Saddlebock)
Columbus
Fossil Cove
Apple Blossom

Without every getting more than a block or two off the bike trail.

That liqour barn does not look like a barn. I'm disappointed. It looks like a liqour In n' Out.

The liqour barn in my college town.

Right now all I know of in Athens is Terrapin. But it is some damn good beer. I know there's another new one that just started but I don't remember the name.

Copper Creek is pretty good.

Well, it's in an upscale area of the city. I would hope that it didn't look like an actual barn.

It's perpetrating is what it is.

To be fair though there is a place called White Barn which is the 2nd most prestigious place to hold a shitty black frat event in Stillwater though.

My go to at the moment is Lagunitas' Hairy Eyeball.

Solid choice. I've been hitting the Lagunitas Maximus heavy lately.

It's considered a high grav at 8.2% but it doesn't punch you in the mouth like a traditional 11%+.

Nice middle point between a craft brew and high grav. Priced really well IMO at $2 a bottle at McScrooges off North Peters and Cedarbluff.

Smells like Blue berries ftw

Starkville doesn't have one that I am aware of, but like mentioned above, we just had laws passed to make things much easier to start a brewery.

I live in Nashville where I am within 30 minutes of 16 different breweries and I have at least had a beer from each one. I have talked to a brewmaster at one of them about coming in during spare time and doing an internship. It's the only way to really get into the business. Just figured it would be cool to learn and then go from there maybe, or just brew at home.
