Good thing the hawk was worn out! I have to admit I'd have never tried that w/o some thick leather gloves. Good for the good guy!

I caught a hawk in trap trying to catch furbearers once, and it was pretty much the same situation.
He seemed ok. I felt really lucky to get to hold and touch it.

A seagull decided to eat my bait in the air on a cast.
I reeled it in and had to cut away the line. The seagull was not chill and I got pecked a few times. He was ok and I hope he learned a lesson.

I also once caught a goose while fishing when I was like 11, it swam over my line and got caught.
My dad is a giant arse dude and he could barely hold the thing down to get the hook out.
Found out later a goose can break your arms with its wings.
They have drowned people being territorial.
