I’m having a crawfish boil this weekend. How many pounds should I get per person?

Safest bet would be to assume about 7 lbs per person. If there will be kids, maybe go down to about 5 lbs per person. But make plenty of corn, potatoes, and sausage

Always go a little over what you expect, then make a crawfish dish using the leftovers.

Even better. Wrangle someone into helping you peel the crawfish, then give them the leftovers so they can cook something for you later on.

Whaa?! If he’s in south Louisiana, sure, but I assume he’s not. I usually do 3 pounds per person and still have a shite ton left over.

Damnnnn. Sacks are like 35-40 pounds. That’s like 10 lbs a person

We do this sometimes, dad will boil the crawfish then after we eat we save the rest and I cook an etouffe

That works too, depending on how spicy the crawfish are and how spicy you like your etouffee. I like a well seasoned etouffee, without being spicy hot, and I don't eat rice. But hotter crawfish in an etouffee served over fried catfish or a grilled grouper or snapper might cut down on the bite enough.
