UA is wonderful with no one on campus. I forget how beautiful it is sometimes. I wish I could've taken all summer classes; I'm such a better student without the stress of 5 classes at once, and 40,000 people around me.

Day got off to a good start, rocking that O Chem final.

Looks like Chelsea is 25 minutes away from ruining it though. Welsh Jesus with a dramatic equalizer? C'mon God, don't forsake me now.

I love summer at UA. I always took 3-4 classes during the summer.

My freshman year was 2010-11, so I had to cancel the summer classes I registered for because of the tornado. I didn't have any damage or anything, but I needed a full summer off. I took two last summer, and now three this summer (one in May, two in July)

The classes is always took in summer were 9 am or 11 am so I would be done early in the afternoon and have the rest of the day for pool, golf, or just day drinking. I love summer.

Only took one class in the summer.

Worked there last summer though.

Belle, CatGal, or other culinary advanced posters...

If I melt butter and add Slap Ya Mama to it and brush it on a steak would that work?

I know some steakhouses add butter before making their steals.

How are you going to cook it? Grilling?

The butter won't hurt anything, just add a little bit of a buttery flavor to the skin. I'm more of a purist (salt + pepper + grill) but you may end up liking the flavor better.

They are the ones that usually tell me what's good etc.

Plus they do talk about their cooking abilities at times.

When I cook, I open up the cabinet, look at all the seasonings and marinades available, and then start grabbing what looks good. Somehow it usually works out.

Ruths Chris apparently uses only salt, parsley, and pepper in their butter sauce. Not sure how much of each though

ETA: I don't know what slap ya mama is or what it tastes like; so I can't help you there

Me and my roommate were smashed watching some game, I think it was NFC div playoff, and decided to grill steaks and made up our own marinades with what we had and it turned out to be delicious. But we were also hammered so take that into account.

My husband does the steaks, but I have an excellent au gratin potatoes recipe and creamed spinach recipe that would be a nice edition to the steaks.

I had a steak from Ruth's Chris where the plate was lined with a layer of sizzling butter. It was the best steak I've ever eaten.

ETA: The melted butter will be good.

I'm almost certain they're not grilling the steak though.

My personal favorite method of cooking a steak is in a cast iron pan. Throw a little butter in the pan and melt it. Salt and pepper my steak and let it get up to about room temp. Get a good seer on both sides and put it in the oven to finish it off.

Once it's done, put it on a plate and pour that juice in the pan right over the top of it. Delicious.
