Not from where I'm from, and DEFINITELY NOT in the OT Loung and Poli board, but I see your point. That media shitcircus of a trial brought the worst out of people of both races. Personally, do I think that GZ was a racist? Probably not? Do I think that he is mentally and emotionally unstable? Yes. Part of that has to do to the fact that he is a social pariah, and under ubelivable pressure, he did have a interesting history before the shooting.

Well where I'm from hardly any white people really cared much at all about the trial. But across the nation there was numerous incidents of black people jumping white people and beating them, in a couple of cases killing them, all in the name of justice4trayvon. But the media didn't seem to really care about that either..just the faux outrage over a black teen being shot in self defense by a hispanic man.
The twisting of the story by the media was sickening, and led to innocent people being harmed by riling up the dumb masses. A friend of mine's sister got punched by a random black guy at Wal Mart after the trial was over..he said "that was for Trayvon bitch".

There were just as many white people that cared... on both sides. There were marches all over the country. with more white people than black people in some cases, supporting Trayvon.
Mississippi isn't the norm. The delta, assuming that's where you live, is far from the norm.

I'm tired of people pulling the race card to brand others as a racist anytime somebody has an opposing view. It's fricking bullshite and I'm not backing down to it.
I watched the trial with an objective mind, I saw the evidence presented, and the fact is that there wasn't enough there to prove 2nd degree murder. The justice system worked. It sucks the kid died, both parties made bad decisions. Race had nothing to do with it, and GZ was not guilty of 2nd degree murder. Had they perhaps pursued a lesser charge like involuntary manslaughter they would have had a case.
The part I hated about the whole thing, and the only reason a part of me wanted GZ to be proven to have acted in self defense, was the media's ridiculous lies and spinning to turn it into a race issue. It was sickening and I was glad they had to eat their words.
