Do you not do that at work now though ?

Some days I spend more time in front of a computer screen than others.

Lately more so because of the Rona shutdown.

But I'm not constantly on here. I pop in a few times a day to see what's going on, maybe post, then go back to what I was doing previously to be productive. It's not like I spend hours on end staring at the SECRant.

But isn’t work for you on a computer?

I’m a bit shocked my eyes haven’t gone... yet

Not necessarily. I'd say about 60% of my work involves screen time of some sort these days (desktop, iPad or iPhone).

When things get back to normal, it will probably drop back down to about 40% or less.

You seem upset

Not sure why you’re so interested in how other people spend their time.

I agree with your above post that gaming is becoming just another integral part of modern entertainment. In fact, I'd say it has been since the 1990s, when the first personal, multi-game consoles were sold.

Like any other guilty pleasure, moderate how much you game. It can quickly turn into an addiction. Sorry for the Dad moment, but I know you said you're young and I don't want a smart kid like you to waste too much of your free time gaming

Felecia Day has been pretty open about addiction to WoW back in the day and how it sort of took over her life for a while. She still loves gaming but she learned the hard way to back off.

Sure, but that's a terrible career for those who care about their longevity.

I totally agree with you. I don’t game much at all. Probably 8/10 high school kids game more than me. DSJ seems to have a strange obsession with how people spend their free time.

What do you mean?
I mean the kids gonna have a college degree too right ?
Rather him make a few 6 or 7 figures wins doing that and a college degree to fall on after that.

Better than a lot of other routes people take

As long as you get your schoolwork done and when you’re older it doesn’t hurt your professional life, who cares
I work with developers and quants who spend their nights and weekends playing fortnite.
Really bright people and very successful in their career.
Wish I was that smart and good with computers, but I’m not. Why I’m a reader not the quant
