The richest old dudes I know wear clothes til they get holes, drive 10 yr old trucks, keep their cocaine habits at reasonable levels, and pinch every penny they can. That's how you stay OT balling into octogenarian-hood my friend.
Bowl is impressed by the trailer park rich.

have changed more tires than I care to remember. The most memorable was in Denver on I25 near the mousetrap with traffic zooming a few inches from my butt while I did it

The type of people im talking about own the land on which the trailer park sits, along with half the rest of any commercial or valuable land in town.

I live in Palm Beach county. Trust me, the ones across the Intracoastal on the island of Palm Beach aren't driving or wearing 10 year old anything. And none of their real estate deals or investments include the words "trailer park" anywhere in the description.

Not true.
I know a cat up there who made a fortune in trailer parks. granted he did not live in any of them, but he owned them.

Exactly. And I'm not talking about fricking Palm Beach County, I'm talking about Jefferson and Shelby County
Dude I specifically had in mind when making that comment made his fortune because his family owned most of the land along Hwy 31 from Hoover to Alabaster back before it was developed.

there's no telling how much he gets in ad revenue.
most of the ads are impressions served by retargeting
there are some that are straight up paid ads, but MOST of those are probably local to LA (I see a few in Bham, assuming that number is higher in NOLA)
I sold internet ads for VNN for a few years - they host the athletic department websites for 2,000 high schools, and they have some REALLY big power schools (Hoover in Bham, Temple in TX to name 2)
unsold ad space was always filled with impressions
every month when we got paid, the accounting department would would send out spreadsheets that showed collected money and commissions for the whole company - ad revenue from served impressions was never more than $2,000 - $3,000 in a month
I was the bama rep - Hoover High School was averaging just under 90K unique visitors a year and just under 900k impressions a year (Bob Jones in Huntsville and Spain Park both did about half that, but Hoover is a national brand and has 3,000 students)
Temple's numbers were even stronger (and VNN DID NOT host their football even)
Temple was a top 3 school and Hoover was top 10
I appreciate this forum and am impressed at how well run and fast it always is considering the traffic generated here (not all message forums can say that & the hosting fees to allow for the loading speeds we see and to fight spam are not cheap)
not pretending I know everything about this, but my guess on revenues and costs for this site are probably more accurate than most people's would be...
having said all of that, I am sure Chicken makes a little money, but this thing is mostly a labor of love
