National championship, and like 12 state titles in baseball in the 90's early 00's. Solid football.

Was inducted into the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame in Montgomery in 2000. One of the state’s pioneer coaches of girls’ athletics, Wright spent 31 of her 34 years in coaching at Hazel Green High School, where she built one of the most successful volleyball programs in the state. Her teams won six state championships and finished in the final four 16 times. With a career record of 1,060 wins and only 433 losses, she is the second volleyball coach in the nation in most games won, behind Becky Dickinson of McGill Toolen High School in Mobile. Amazingly, Wright never had a losing season in any sport she ever coached, and she received 17 coaches of the year awards in either volleyball or track. For her remarkable record and for her efforts in helping women coaches receive coaching supplements from their schools, she was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alabama Women’s Athletic Association. Her state championship years came in 1980, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1994.

You pick your college. The state picks your high school.

True, but HS is HOME. It's where your parents and grandparents went. It's where your kid brother goes or soon, where your kids or buddy's friends go. High school sports are never as big as college, but I love my high school.

Do people actually get jacked up over their high schools accomplishments after they've left?

Not really jacked up, but my high school had never won a state championship EVER. They have now won 2 of the last 4. I was pretty proud of them.

Not yet, but it could be. I went to Hagerty High in Oviedo Fl. My high school is relatively new. Only been around since 2006. But since it's inception it has produced a 5* QB in Jeff Driskel (He was in my class, 2011. I played with him. Love him but still hate the Gators) and 2 pro baseball players in Tyler Marlette and Zach Eflin. We fired Nate Gierke, our football coach, for being an incompetent retard. They went winless in the district this year. When Jeff was there, he made coach look good. Jeff was the only reason we ever won games. Our defense was terrible, o-line was non existent and receivers couldn't catch anything. If our receivers didn't butter their hands before every game, Jeff's completion rating would have been through the roof. We hired a very good coach from winter park and so the football program should be on the rise in the next few years.

In Basketball we're very good. I bet they can win a title in the coming years. Coach Kohn has always had very good teams even with not so skilled players. In the regular season we had the 3rd best record of the 8A division in Florida but we choked in the divisional round. Shame with so much potential. They'll be good next year though. Only lose 1 starter I think. It was a young team. I only knew a couple of the kids and they were freshmen or sophomores when I was still in school there.

Weak sauce. High School began in 1998. We have 39 state championships. Proud to say I was a part of our first baseball state title as a senior in 2008.

The rest of my siblings go to Auburn High, which I guess is a powerhouse. I went to a school in South Alabama that sucked at everything. My junior year of HS basketball, we won our first area game in over a decade and first playoff game since the 50s.
