This sort of stuff is nearly impossible to explain in general, but especially over the internet. I asked a buddy of mine who is in seminary to help you out because it genuinely seems like you want an answer for this. I'm just going to summarize what he said. He said that from a Christian perspective, that the world was never supposed to be like this, but once sin entered the world became a perversion of what it was originally supposed to look like. God has the power to save people from bad things happening, but in order to do that He would have to destroy the world and completely start over like He did with Noah and the ark. Instead of doing that, He defeated sin on the cross and helps people fight through sin. Sin and its effects will be here as long as this earth is still here but God isn't finished with the earth yet. So ultimately, God doesn't like it at all when babies die or bad things happen, but there is hope in the cross because that is where God kills sin and death once and for all. People who believe and follow Jesus will one day have the life they always hoped for, they just have to wait it out for now, as they cling to God for strength in a world filled with sin.
Sorry for the long message but I hope what he said helps you out a little bit.

God is omnipotent, he doesn't get to blame his creation for his fault of creation. He knew we would sin and created us anyway.

He did with Noah and the ark.
Never happened, scientific fact.

If God first tried the Noah route, then the Jesus route, he is by definition not perfect or omnipotent. Christianity only works with an imperfect God which no Christian will admit to.

Incorrect on all counts.

Roger, you're bringing God down to your human way of thinking. His thoughts are not our thoughts. His ways are not our ways. You're officially too smart to be a Christian. Congrats.

God created an imperfect world and allows good/bad things to happen.
You don't get a life away from pain/suffering/disease until Heaven.

Man, I'm not trying to argue with you on this, especially over the internet. I'm just trying to help the guy out that looked like he sincerely wanted it.
