agree 100%

My main 2 beefs with Trump are/have been:

1 - he is so disliked, I don't think he can win the general
2 - I doubt I will be excited about his SCOTUS nominee

on point 1:

* we are seeing record turnout in republican primaries/caucuses
* the unions are backing him & like what he says on trade
* the dems are running an awful candidate that is also disliked
* anger at "the establishment" is real, polls show that many people have Sanders and Trump as 1 and 2

So, I am starting to think he can win

On point 2, I KNOW I will hate whomever Hillary nominates

So, I will vote for "not Hillary" in November...

I won't vote for Hillary in November either. If the (R) is Trump, I won't like it but I'll vote for him.

Your 'on point 1' bullet items are spot on. Against anyone but Hillary and Bernie, Trump has no chance. It just so happens that the (D) nominee will be someone he just might can beat because he's getting support from some groups that otherwise wouldn't consider the (R).

As far as the Supreme Court nominee goes, the other day Trump brought up Bill Pryor as a potential candidate. If I knew he'd nominate Pryor, I'd honestly vote for him in the primary. I happen to know Pryor & he'd make a fantastic justice.

ETA: You said you were going to vote your conscious. That's exactly what you and everyone else should do.

Trump is a wake up call to the Republican establishment. Their sickly campaigns based on social issues and "making America great again" are not resonating with their base this time. Not even with evangelicals.

Republicans want a winner and Rubio, Cruz, Carson and, to a lesser extent Kasich, keep thumping that Bible and declaring that they're each God's one true messenger. If he thought he could get away with it, I think Trump would whip out his dick and masturbate in front of a campaign crowd.

It's fun seeing a bad boy turn the GOP upside down. It's long overdue.

I don't see him winning, though. Hillary Clinton just has too much support amongst women and minorities.

I did my part and voted for Cruz last week.

Wasn't my first choice.

If it comes to it I'll vote for Trump in November and not even think about it.

Um, that's Trump's campaign slogan.

Why Trump is resonating so well with the (R) base doesn't have anything to do with social policy either way. It has everything to do with (a) being anti-establishment (just like Bernie for the Ds) and (b) being unapologetic about putting America first. People don't like what we've seen the last 8 years where the POTUS at times seemed to be ashamed to be an American.

Didn't exclude Trump, but what makes his delivery different is the anger. He appeals to the "poorly educated" with anger. His talent is making people get angry.

No, but it's the drumbeat of his opposition, Cruz and Carson especially.

Haven't noticed this. He and Michelle have been great ambassadors for America. She, for example, refused to wear a hijab when they visited Saudi Arabia.

Cruz cannot win. There are just too many states where he won't play well.

While Cruz will likely win Texas... and has a shot to win Oklahoma and Arkansas... he'll perform terribly on Tuesday in states like Vermont, Massachusetts, and Minnesota. In all likelihood, Kasich will finish ahead of Cruz in those states.

Rubio is the only candidate with a shot to beat Trump... of course that only happens if Cruz drops out. The longer Cruz has reason to stay in the race, the more likely Trump wins the nomination. Therefore, a vote for Cruz tomorrow is essentially a vote for Trump.

If Cruz were to somehow lose Texas to Trump... and if Rubio finishes ahead of Cruz in the other 11 states that vote on Tuesday, I see no way Cruz can stay in the race. He'd be finished. And we might finally get the 2-man race that is necessary to defeat Trump.

While the above scenario is unlikely, I think there is a chance it could happen.

What has zero chance is Cruz finishing ahead of Rubio in about 7 states. Rubio appears poised to finish ahead of Cruz in most every state except Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. And its actually close in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

No. Carson and Cruz? Yes. But I do not see any evidence of such behavior from Rubio.

I don't hate Obama at all but they've been pretty terrible at that part of the presidency.

I am voting fro Kasich on Tuesday

I am in Alabama, so just keeping the Donald under 50% is the goal

That's a stupid goal. The only way for Trump to be defeated is if it becomes a 2-man race. And the only 2-man race that is even possible is Trump vs. Rubio. A vote for Cruz and for sure Carson or Kasich is a vote for Trump, FYI.

quote:

Pulling for Rubio in FL, Cruz in TX & Kasich in OH

That way, a brokered convention is on the table

You do realize that many of the states become "winner take all" by the end of March, don't you?

If Cruz wins Texas, Rubio wins Florida, and Kasich wins Ohio, then I can guarantee you that all four will still be in the race by April, and all four will still be splitting each others votes.

So sure, that will stop Trump from hitting 50%, but it will also ensure he still finishes on top in every other state... so he'll be collecting almost every delegate going forward except for the 3 states you mentioned.

But if Cruz and Kasich are in the race... Rubio won't be winning florida.

And if Rubio and Cruz are still int he race... I seriously doubt Kasich will win Ohio.

THE ONLY way Trump is defeated is if Cruz and Kasich are out of the race by April.

I'm pretty much conceding the fact that the republicans won't win this election. But as long as Bernie fricking Sanders isn't elected, I'll be ok. I won't like Hillary either, but Bernie is a fricking nutjob.

This poorly educated Trump supporter stuff is crap... I have a B.S. and post graduate work...also a veteran. Trump is what America needs right now. We need our nuts back and the culture of this country needs to be reversed to more of the can-do,cowboy,go getter mentality ...not this PC, lazy, handout mentality.

One day these people will realize that Trump is a giant pussy. Can't handle protesters, can't handle actual questions, can't handle someone disagreeing with him, can't handle Megyn Kelly. For all the tough talk the guy is a thin-skinned bullshite artist and he's taking people for a ride.

Current polling in the RCP Average:

Rubio leads Clinton 48.5% to 43.5%
Cruz leads Clinton 46.5% to 45.0%
Clinton leads Trump 46.5% to 43.5%

Trump is the only one of the main 3 candidates who trails Clinton in the polls.

If your goal is to defeat Hillary Clinton, please don't be stupid and vote for Trump.
