The Jackson Clarion Ledger is seeking its next Ole Miss beat writer. We’re looking for someone who is passionate, driven and creative, and has proven experience on a competitive beat. We aim to do things differently here. Instead of breathlessly reporting every press conference quote and minor ankle sprain, we want someone who can break out from the pack and write the stories no one else is writing and do it in a digital space. You should be comfortable on camera and behind a mic, work well with a team and be able to develop sources. You’ll live in Oxford, and cover the football, men’s basketball and baseball programs for ClarionLedger.com and the USA Today Network. The Clarion Ledger won eight APSE awards in 2017, and has a history of developing top talent. Past employees are now at ESPN, the NFL Network, the Chicago Sun-Times, Baton Rouge Advocate, NOLA.com, AL.com, 247 and the Associated Press, among other publications.
