Depends, I tend to split my time (and money) between The Houndstooth on the strip and Wilhagen's in Timmerson Square

The strip is lame. I prefer the downtown bars, but I'm an old.

idk what y'all call it, I guess it's considered downtown. I just call it that because almost all the bars in that area are on 4th street. The Houdstooth is too much of a shitshow for me at this point in my life but I like Egan's and the place right behind it just off University, i think it's called TRE or some other acronym. Wilhagens and the hipster bar right next door are my favorite spots in the downtown area.
I've been to Tuscaloosa over a dozen times for various reasons and have never bad a bad time (other than in the stadium)

yeah. I have stayed over in Tuscaloosa a number of times before/after LSU-Auburn games and had an awesome time at 4th and 23rd the night before Jarrett Lee gave the Aubies the Joe Montana treatment in 2008

Haven't been in Temersons before, and why would they intentionally pass all those bars on the strip to go there? Must be some drink special.

Because all of the bars down there are 21 and up. 18 and over bars suck.

As I got older I hung out downtown more. Before Johnny opened the new booth he had a place next to copper top. Used to spend a lot of time in there. My buddy was the manager at Temersons on the end. Was a nice chill place to drink good beer and play pool.

In between. Moes ininsfree and the booth are the best bars in town.
