I've only had one, and it was after a few too many for me to make any real judgement. I thought it was really good at the time, but I'd have to give it a semi-sober go before I say for sure.

See, I don't even see it when I go down to Destin, which has always struck me as odd seeing as it is a Florida brewery. I'm sure I'll get down there for a football game or something again and pick some up then.

Stone Arrogant (Double Arrogant when I'm ready for a heavy one), Green Flash Imperial, Sierra Nevada Torpedo, Mission Brewery IPA. Pretty much any Cali IPA with more than 70 IBU

If you are ever in Ocean Beach or Carlsbad in California, Pizza Port beers are great, I don't know if they sell growlers outside of the region though.

Other than on the way to Tuscaloosa I think I've been to Birmingham twice in the past year or so. And neither of those times was I really in charge of where we were going.

I would like to get up that way some time. Avondale and Beer Engineers have some decent stuff too from what I've been able to sample.

Tampa to Destin is pretty far. Tampa to Atlanta is almost the same distance.

Also I would check out Swamphead. Local brewery that is really good. I think they distribute as far as Tallahassee maybe the Ft Walton Destin area as well.

If I want a great beer I seek out the Avery Maharaja Imperial IPA. Having lived and traveled out west for some time I was able to enjoy a lot of beers in the towns they were brewed in. Living in Boulder I naturally became very familiar with the beers taht were brewed there. The Maharaja is easily my all time favorite beer. I've yet to encounter anything that matches it (i like the hops though...).

If you fancy Belgian style ales I consider their quadruple style belgian ale called "The Reverend" to be fantastic.

Fat Tire is ok, hell I've got a FT poster hanging five feet from me, but I definitely wouldn't put it in my top. New Belguim's 1554 is a better beer IMO.

I like pretty much everything I've had from Bell's and Founders. Beers I try to always have in my fridge include:

Bells Two Hearted - my favorite beer
Founders All Day IPA
Bells Oberon - spring and summer
Founders Breakfast Stout
Good People IPA
Bells Amber Ale

Favorite, but impossible to find is Mikkeller George, Calvados barrel aged...the Westbrook BA Mexican Cake series are fantastic as well. I still have a few bottles of Westvleteren XII left. It's a fantastic quad, but not really my style.

Several of my go-tos: Alesmith Wee Heavy, Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break, Cigar City Jai Alai, Pliny the Elder (better than Heady Topper IMO), Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat (perfect summer beer), Evil Twin Hipster Ale

Some harder to get and/or seasonal: Westbrook Mexican Cake, Cantillon Lou Pepe Framboise, Russian River Supplication, Tilquin Quetsche

<<<<<<<<<< my all time favorite although Marshal Zhukov imperial stout is a close second. For a lighter beer Dogfish head 90 min. IPA or 120 min. when available.

Where the frick can you get these? Do they only distribute the vast majority of their products in South Florida

Do you have a Total Wine in your area? They usually have a decent selection of Cigar City.

I've never really cared for the Dogfish Head * minute IPAs. Even fresh, they're too malty for me.
