I'm also 6'3. I was probably around 170 soaking wet when I met my wife. Marriage (my wife's awesome cooking) had ballooned me up to about 230. I dieted early this year and got back down to about 210. Probably back up into the 220s now.

As for big eating, at Citricos at Disney World last year I ordered a veal shank special and finished the whole thing. The waitress said she had never seen anyone finish the whole plate. I felt absolutely awful afterward, though.

Says the young. One day, you too will reach that magic age where you realize how dumb this sounds.

I originally heard age is just an excuse from a 70 year old guy who was in great shape

and nothing I've seen since then has made me doubt it. hard work and eating right always pays off

i agree. in my 30s i just can't eat like i used to.

i'd kill for that early 20's and teenage metabolism.

when I said age is just an excuse it was in regards to getting in shape, not about lacking the metabolism you once had.

I'll be going to the gym, running, and eating healthy for as long as I can, but I'm sure my cheat meal will have to change over time.

It'll happen to you one day. I'm not overweight, and I work out a few times a week. Certainly not as active as I was in my late teen and early 20's, but I'm no couch potato. Your metabolism slows as you age. It's part of life.
