You must live in the mountains if a fan is all you need?
I do! And I survived the Tornado attack on Saturday night. Rogers, Arkansas (think of it as the other hometown of Walmart) got hammered.
Thank God we are in the mountains because if that had been a full strength tornado we'd have had hundreds of dead because it hit Rogers straight on. And I mean let me stroll down main street head on.
Sadly, and I hate to say this, me surviving means you won't get the three Penthouse magazines from the 90s I was going to give you in my will. I hate to disappoint you.
But in terms of temperature... a nice big box fan set to blow right on you will do a world of good.

You'd think, from reading some of the responses, that old uncle Joe has done created a syndrome of derangement in some of more fragile snow flakes. BDS....sad.
No one is telling you what to do at your house. The idiots are telling you what their idiotic study indicates is efficient without any input from any individual.
Ours is normally around 72 year round but that is pretty warm in the winter at night so we cut it back to around 68 most nights. 4 units so it takes adjusting all 4 if we do it across the board. Our current home is as airtight as I have ever been in....at 72 the downstairs is like an ice box which is exactly how I want it when its 95 and 90% humidity outside. Slightly over 5000 square feet, power bill is less than $200 a month year round. I don't care if its $2000 a month during the summer, ima use the AC and use the hell out of it....

In the mountains? Rogers is flat, like most of Benton Co. All the same, congrats on surviving. What happened Sunday morning truly sucks. NWA has been spoiled by the sense that it can't happen here. Even the Fayetteville Fizzle may no longer be in play. (Except for baseball.)
My thermostat uses an algorithm based on occupancy, time of day, and outside air temp. Unless my hot cheerleader wife gets too hot.

Nobody likes the government or their recommendations.

Great post!
If you are going to be a government plant, the DMV really does make the most sense.

We run 76 during the summer. Never change the setting.
