Ban from NBA games?

He's still an owner though right? Can they force him to sell?

Banned from all NBA involvement for life. They are going to urge him to sell the team.

I don't know why the NBA wouldn't let this bubble for a little bit and let public outrage force their hand into making him sell. It's a tricky precedent banning someone for life for their personal thoughts.

I'm really not sure how I feel about it. He made some fricked up comments but he didn't break any laws or NBA rules. Seems a little over the top.

Silver just said that he does have the power to do this in the NBA constitution so there ya go.

It is.

I understand the NBA's move. An owner like this hurts the brand, a brand very popular with African Americans. I still think you let him drown in a PR nightmare and watch him sell/remove himself from the game. I'm not in charge of PR anywhere though.

I guess silver just really set the tone on his reign as commissioner.

and he deserves what he got because it proves a point that people with a lot of money and power should not and can not say things like this whether or not their in privacy or in public

It's crazy how wrong you are. And you also don't make sense.

You think poor arse people don't say the same things?

You want to monitor what people say or think in their homes?

Is this a joke? This has to be a joke. You can't possibly believe this.

On the other, I defend his right to hold those beliefs and the fact of the matter is that he clearly isnt using discriminatory hiring/firing tactics.

While he does hire blacks, the more I've been thinking about this whole thing the sicker it makes me. Its almost like from his reported behavior he enjoyed being in charge of them like they were his team. Sure he hates black people, but as long as they were screwing him, working for him, or paying him rent they are ok. I think he is sick.

Plus the whole thing about the cancer bill for the asst. coach back in 04
