If you ignore all context from their resume, it was a better hire on paper.
Golden was a young, brash guy, more in the mold of Wade. Woodward was never gunna hire that. But it's probably what LSU needs as a basketball coach.
So he hired a bland personality with a good resume.

I can't believe it's even in question whether he's getting canned. At this time last year, if you told this board that he would go 3-15 in the SEC, 99% would say he's gone.

Giving McMahon a fifth year is insanity. He should have been shitcanned after bottoming out in year 3. He followed that up by doing even worse.

It's not over until it's over. The McMen won't stop. Last year the Woodward propaganda and Moscona were spouting that it was simply a lack of resources. More resources were pumped into the program and McMahon completely bottomed out.
Now Moscona et al are saying that the money isn't there to fire him.
I just saw an SECN segment where they played player comments about McMahon postgame and Mark Pope's comments about how well coached LSU is. The Panel then opined about how LSU should keep McMahon.
It was absurd.
Its always another excuse why we can't rid ourselves of the drain that is Matt McMahon.

CMM was a lazy, uninspiring hire that Woodward could present as a win on paper. There was a string of hires out of Murray St that did not pan out when they jumped to better leagues. Why the hell was CMM going to be the exception.
Florida took a gamble on a young guy with a short resume.
