re: Has Jim Nantz lost it?

I hate Jim Nantz on the call. Was elated when he left CBB.

If he doesn't make the tournament with the haul he's brining in, he's worse than even I think.

The most knowledgeable posters on this board for Men's Basketball said that even with NIL, we would not get anyone that teams like KY and Florida wanted, because of our coach.

8 million is a lot more than was initially suggested in LSU media…

I’d prefer not to see Beard at an SEC program with more resources
McMahon had 3 years to do whatever. He’s basically a lame duck. I hate it.

Still on the air. I listen to the podcast sometimes

re: Question for the McMen

1- Wade’s downfall at LSU was unfortunate. Arguments that he was rightfully fired and that LSU should have stuck with him both have merit.

2- McMahon was a coach who had interest from other schools. Namely, he was South Carolina’s first choice. He had a good resume, and was not considered a bad hire.

3- Wade rehabbed his career in a big way at McNeese and scored a job at a school that is not LSU. He never is nor was he ever going to return to LSU. The Wade book is closed, we should leave it on the shelf.

4- McMahon has proven to be a bad hire. He’s recruited better than I thought he would early on, but he’s developed no one and his in-game coaching has produced losing basketball. A 14-45(?) SEC record speaks for itself.

5- Woodward should have cut his losses and moved on from McMahon. For whatever reason he decided to keep McMahon it puts LSU in a lame duck season and only delays the inevitable. There is little chance that McMahon turns this around. The overwhelming likelihood is that we’ll be starting from scratch next year at this time, a year later than we should have.

The NIL stuff is great, but we’re only going up to the level everyone else has been. Still others are ahead. Most kids are going to choose to play at a school they’ve seen play in the tournament, where they have a reasonable belief they can play for a championship. That’s not LSU currently.

The End

Agree with 95% of this. And the 5% doesnt matter. Well done sir.

All of what, exactly? You think he believes it’s been a successful hire?

The athletic department planted the NIL stories after the OU win, so yeah, I think Scott wanted him back.

Giving a historically bad coach a 7 year contract...

I agree Woodward wasnt going to get fired over canning McMahon. But its still not a good look.

He's trying to solve a bad hire by throwing money at it. I doubt it works.

McMahon should not be back.

Only person it benefits is maybe Woodward. McMahon looked like he was fine with the firing and getting his bag by the end of the season.

Gramps, poliboard is over there…

Your impression is wrong. The only thing that people have said the AD is lying about us the exaggeration of how far off our NIL spending is relative to other SEC schools. The evidence being that our recruiting classes have had numerous top 100 players. Conversely. IF we are THAT far off in NIL then that points up an AD and/or coach caught flat on their feet or unable to inspire confidence to donors.

This is an excellent summation.

I said it seems possible that is true they are raising the money, and also that more money is better than less (but doesn't guarantee wins) and they lost their shite

That is not why people argued with you. It’s because you ask annoying questions and refuse to answer others questions.

Have a nice life sir

You are incapable of forming opinions. You should get that looked at.

Moscone’s only sources are in the LSUAD

Moscona clearly got his NIL intel from LSU. He previewed the substance of the Dixon NIL article well before it was published.
