All atheists are simply not much more than really obnoxious agnostics.

In my view, the hardest pill to swallow regarding there being no god is the idea that any of this even exists in the first place.

The human mind simply isn't capable of contemplating pure nothingness. Virtually everything that exists today or has ever existed has a maker of some kind.

Then you think about how big space is. I mean, it's really big. The Earth is just the right distance from the sun in order for life to flourish and is the only planet in the solar system capable of supporting life.

Statistically the likelihood of there being other planets with life out there is pretty high, but are we just painfully unfortunate enough to have developed in a back corner of the universe that no one cares about?

We just recognize that the version of God that Christianity and other main stream religions present as their higher power is ridiculous and has been bastardized over the centuries to best fit how they want to control the idiots who believe in their religion.

I agree with all of this, except the use of the word "idiots" to describe those that do have faith. I get the argument for the Christian faith, it just doesn't make sense for me. I'm open to their being a higher being, but I don't really believe in the one the Christian faiths peddle. And I do think most Christian faiths use it to control human behavior, which can be a good or bad thing.

Lol. Amen brother.
Wish I was on my puter. I could do one of those praying hands.
To be honest here, your beliefs and what you say are just as important as anybody else’s. Thin skinned people need not apply to da rant.

Miracle:
:an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs the healing miracles described in the Gospels
:an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment

As an Atheist, I go by the second definition.
quote:

birth of babies

It is a mix of science and biology. The act of sexual intercourse is a whole topic of its own. It really isn't a miracle by the letter of the definition. All species mate and reproduce.
quote:

crack addicts or alcoholics to people who changed

Well, there are support groups, therapists, family interventions, and sheer willpower for the need of change.
quote:

they were addicted, which means they couldn't stop!
Addiction can be overcome easily by anyone with enough willpower and support.

Religion is a intimate discussion topic on this board. Both parties must have their side be heard and adhered to and it can get radical. Personally, I really tried to believe there was a god, but the longer I've lived, the more I realized the vast amount of bullshite has been shoved down my throat. I'll just keep it simple on this reply.

Miracles of the past are technology of the future...

We just have yet to learn the technology to explain the "miracles" of today.

how would you explain the birth of babies? That in itself is a miracle.

LINK

Please watch the short video in the link. Now consider that there are 7.6 billion humans living at this time, most of them actively reproducing.

Miracle? Hardly.
