I think it’s safe to say no one thinks AD is all that bright.

It got me thinking about superstar intelligence and titles. How many dumbasses lead their teams to titles?

Looking at recent history not many.

The Warriors are all pretty smart, even obnoxious arse Draymond

Lebron is a bitch narcissist but no dummy

Dirk = smart
Kobe, Shaq = smart

The Spurs dynasty was the epitome of an intelligent team

The Pistons were led by Chauncey who is intelligent

Jordan was shrewd as they come

When is the last dumb frick superstar like AD to win it all?

Moses Malone?

He is but he’s smarter than AD.

And Klay, Steph and KD definitely are.

He’s a hell of a lot smarter than Davis and about a million times more charismatic.

I love Shaq but he seems generally dumb.

He's not a genius, but he's a pretty intelligent dude.

He's low key brilliant and is worth more now than 99% of former athletes. He's got an actual doctorate. Wtf are you even talking about

Shaq is hardly brilliant, just highly marketable & charismatic

AD isn’t stupid either. It’s hard to find efficient players that can be labeled stupid

its a legitimate topic and one i think about often. using your examples above, actually the smartest guy on the pistons' teams, by many accounts of the other players & coaches, was rasheed wallace who is nobody's idea of a prototype "star"

it just goes to show you how important SELF AWARENESS is in addition to talent, not just intelligence.

and if anthony davis cant look at the situation with the pels that is staring him in the face, then yes, he is a dumbass, and no, he will not lead a team to a ring. he might be on a team that wins, but he will not be the reason they do so.

thus far he has been incapable of defining a team and its culture, despite all the mistake the FO has made. a guy like that (top 5/top 10) has to be able to do that.

kobe did it
lebrony did it
curry did it
garnett did it
duncan did it

etc/etc/etc

I don't know that "all that bright" is the right term.

If you read between the lines of what's said about him, it really resembles someone who is on the spectrum. They say he's "easily manipulatable". They say he's "childlike". They use the term, "amazingly immature".

This doesn't sound like a case of someone who simply isn't smart and makes bad decisions. This sounds like a guy who is incapable of being in control of his life.

I have no idea if any of that is accurate. But, that's the subtext of what many have said about him.

i know a guy who knows a guy you all would recognize. that is exactly what he says this guy says about AD

it appears to be the prevailing opinion among those who have occasion to know

Easily manipulated is a sign of a lack of intelligence imo. Means he lacks critical thinking skills.

Rasheed is a smart dude as is Garnett and Ray Allen.

Paul Pierce is a fricking retard though.

Even if AD is smarter than I’m giving him credit for, I really can’t think of another superstar with his personality type that led a team to a title.

Draymond isn’t a superstar or a team leader. He’s a follower who got lucky he’s on the best roster in the NBA, which also happened to perfectly fit his skill set

Now Steph and Klay are both very intelligent and high BBall IQ

Kobe, Dirk and Tim Duncan are really the only NBA stars known for being exceptionally intelligent. The rest were relatively smart compared to other Nba players which probably isn't a very high bar.

Tim Duncan is super low key and isn’t your typical Alpha. He won quite a few rings.

I’m obviously throwing the intelligence question out and addressing your personality type response.
