Thank god for some good news. Now follow it up with a solid hire.

Anyone think this may be the end of the spread too? Or do we hire an OC familiar with the spread or that continues to use it?

Needs to be a top notch recruiter too.

If I know Pinkel, he will promote from within or hire a family member.

I hope this will not be the case.

Too bad. I liked the guy. Wish yost was leaving because Pinkel got fired instead of feeling he had to resign.

Good luck to him and thanks for his recruiting accomplishments. Sound like he may be resigning due to awareness of supporters and fans not backing him to continue as OC. That would be another reason to thank him.

Just read tis on TB

quote:

Franklin is in my class and some kid just asked him about Yost leaving. Franklin said Yost is burned out and doesn't love it any more and want to spend more time with his family and kids. Franklin said Yost's heart just wasn't in it anymore really and seems ok with him leaving.

I wish him luck as well. He has many good qualities, I just don't think installing and implementing an offensive scheme was one of them. I don't know enough about the rest of the current staff to say, but it certainly seems to me this hire needs to come from outside.

The Tigers would continue with the spread. That's what they've recruited and that's what they'll continue.

this.

I wish we would hire someone from outside the program, but I have a really hard time seeing this happen.

Now. Go get Jim Chaney from Tennessee. Please Gary. He even runs a spread and is from Missouri so its not even a huge stretch. Can you imagine how many games we would win if we could score like Tennessee but just play the same defense we played this yezr?

I've never been a big fan of Yost as OC. Having said that, he is a person and it's can't be fun to be out looking for a job.

I wish him the best of luck and thank him for his time at Mizzou, especially for the recruiting successes for which he was responsible. I hope finds a job which fits his skill set and meets his and his family's needs.
