I haven't seen any so call experts saying Drinkwitz and the new OC will make a difference this coming season. All about teams like Arkansas, Kentucky, Kansas, and some others making noise and make a jump in the rankings. What is going on? Is it just plain old hate for Mizzou?

Yes.

And that’s ok. We can fly under the radar. Sneak attack.

I would not call it hate so much as just waiting to see. Spring will tell us something, the first game far more.

The Rant is a better place with Semo in it!

Probably because our media isn't making a big deal our of it either. Results on the field are all that will make headlines.

There will be little hype. Drink is in the put up or shut up stage. Hopefully he can put up

No, I don't believe that.. Try to look at Mizzou as an outsider looking in. I think Eli just garners little interest and most casual fans don't know he even exists. He is a sub-500 coach making small moves like hiring a much needed OC. Not exactly worth writing about.

We have been a .500 team for the past 3 years, and haven't been much better since 2014, regardless of the coach. So, until we start winning, we aren't interesting for media folk to write about.

Drink has yet to improve the football program since he got here. What is there to be excited about?

Agreed. Needs to break out this year and prove he can get over some of his coaching issues. I think the guy can recruit, now it's time to show us he can truly coach and elevate this team.

As Mizzou fans, we can see how these little moves could snowball this season (if QB and OL are solid.)

But outsiders aren't going to see things like an OC hire, normal maturation of recruiting classes, or brick-by-brick transfers as changing anything.

All while the rest of the SEC makes the same kind of moves, many from stronger positions than Mizzou.

With the new rules in place, this should help Drinkwitz a lot.
Transfer portal and NIL seems to be working. But there are still ways to go and Drinkwitz isn't a well-known HC to attract more top players. I do believe this year is the year to get the team to start winning games that have been losing to several team on a regular basis.

You have to give Drinkwitz two more years then if he doesn't improve. Mizzou needs to hire a proven coach not a project that's we've been dealing with since Devine left ...we got very fortunate with Pinkel but he didn't win one conference championship..it's been too long

KY with Stoops is a great example of giving a guy time to build.

I can see two more years at a min for Drink to prove us wrong. This year will be telling. I think he gets it done.

What happened was that Drinkwitz has been learning on the job and is now getting more comfortable with being a HC. Give him the time since no HC were able to recruit better than Drinkwitz and he isn't that bad at all. Just needs more time to get assistants and other pieces to make it work plus getting experience as a HC.

This is his last year if he goes sub-500 again.

You realize he earned that time, right? Stoops made them immediately better. By Stoops 2nd year, UK won 4 more games than the year before stoops took over.

Drink doesn't have anything like that to point to.

I'm not sure 4-4 in the SEC saves Drink this year unless there are some huge wins in those 4.

Well if his 4 wins are huge, his 4 losses will be REALLY BAD
