I think St. Louis is used to winning championships and since Mizzou seems to always come up short the St. Louisians hate them.

Yeah. The press and public vibe is so bad over here that we're grabbing four stars like Andy Bauer and Ray Wingo and have established a pipeline into East St. Louis.

But by all means, carry on.

It's taken a couple of decades for Mizzou to break down the barriers into the St. Louis inner cities. And now that it's happened we're getting a bullshite thread like this.

The columnists in the Post-Dispatch have taken turns writing about the various facets of the shite show that's gone on in Columbia over the last few months. Big deal. Deal with it.

The truth is they didn't hire a Mizzou fan to cover Mizzou. I think Dave Matter is a decent journalist and goes out of his way to be unbiased in the stories he writes. Honestly I feel like the passion isn't there for him, it's just a job he has to get a better job eventually. I really wish the Post would start hiring people who give a shite about Missouri Sports, Bernie is really the only one I can say has any passion in his coverage at all. If I have to read another race bait article by Burwell I may vomit.

Those who don't live in SWMO may have missed the irony of this question being asked by a guy from Springfield.

I think it's more like there is some need for certain STLouisians to feel a superiority to the rest of the state.

They can't accept being, as TJMoe put it, as midwestern as anybody, and have a natural impulse to deny being "cowtowners".

I'm a Cards lifers who loves The Arch, The Zoo, Planetarium, Opera House, Grants Farm etc, but I never had much inclination to move to STL when I lived in Mo.
