Does that mean the Maty Mauk era is over at Mizzou?

or will GP start Mauk again as soon as he can anyway?

I don't even want to answer that. Hopefully, he leaves GP with no choice.

If all the rumors are true, wouldn't that affect Mauk being able to play long term?

Depends on the true reason for the suspension. If the rumor mill is correct, I believe the Mauk era is over. If not, and it's just weed, depends on how Lock plays. Someone on TB posted a while ago that yesterday's practice was the best one all year and players have bought in. Not a reliable source, but fits the overall picture.

Greyson Lambert set NCAA completion percentage record against South Carolina. I wouldn't put too much stock in his performance against the cocks.

That is not a knock on Drew or Greyson, just pointing out the back end of USCe's defense leaves a lot to be desired.

If Lock plays well, he'll never lose his spot now, even if Maty returns. It would take Lock failing and Maty returning for GP to go back to Maty

Nick just asked people on TigerBoard to stop posting rumors. Kinda funny since 99 percent of the rumors that are posted on this board are coming from TigerBoard.

certainly an understatement, but if the team practices the way they look in the game when he comes in, you have to wonder how long GP can stick to his "my decision to keep playing MM was right" mantra..

Mauk will be the starter when he comes back regardless of how Lock plays, because Pinkel will say "we do what we do"

She said Mauk is likely transferring down to Missouri State to play for Steck.

well if that's the case then, he better keep his nose clean(pun not entirely intended) I don't see the Marine putting up w/ shenanigans.

Walljasper writes..

quote:

*****
By doing what he did to get suspended, Mauk benched himself. Unless Lock bombs — and I doubt that he will — Pinkel would be crazy to turn back for any reason other than injury.
****
As a coach, you can live with some mistakes from a true freshman, particularly one like Lock, who has NFL written all over him.
*****
All of this is unfortunate for Mauk, a guy with rare mental and physical toughness who won a lot of games and was always a standup guy when he lost, never blaming anyone else or shirking responsibility.

But for Pinkel, this suspension is a blessing in disguise.

Boom, over the wall in left..

You can never say for sure but I think Mauk is done here. To many rumors floating around and they are starting to fit together. First the rumor of Mauk's possible transfer, then a rumor Lock will start to get more playtime, Now the latest suspension surrounded by more rumors of off field problems. Remembering the dejected look Mauk had on the sideline watching the #2 QB march the offense down the field against UK. Such a waste of talent really. Almost reminds me of Blaine Dalton. He was another really good QB that just pissed his chance away.

I can't see GP going back the other way unless Mauk really showed something in practice IF he gets back.
