That's why I asked the hypothetical question, if Saban was our coach, and our record and effort was like this, in year 2, would these brilliant poster want his head on a stick too?

Can you point me to the last Nick Saban coached team that started 1-4? I think I will be better able to answer your question then.

That's where we differ. I don't think he's some bumbling idiot who doesn't understand the game of football or thought he could come in and wing it. Recruiting is what it is here. Just going to have to live with that and win despit of it.

I think his failures are more due to experience and not being able to institute what he wants to put in as of yet. He's had to change the defense several times due either to the players basically refusing his system or the guys not being good enough to run it.

IF he does survive he must make a quality DC hire this offseason and allow himself to focus more on being the HC.

I dont buy the recruiting nonsense. A good recruiter can recruit at Missouri in the top 30. Barry is lucky to clear the top 50.

Maybe by "turnaround" he meant the defense that Cross has apparently completely destroyed.

Except in year 2 he just went on the road and beat a top 5 team?

Barry has yet to win a road game or beat a ranked team.

Ok, if we somehow miraculously beat Georgia then I expect everyone here to forget all of the shortcomings and tell everyone that BO is "kicking arse"

Lol, I can see it now.

I don’t think that either. I think you could have a CEO of a $100M company come in and have built a better football team than Odom. I think he overstates the value of football knowledge as a modern day football coach.

Has Campbell been getting his arse handed to him week in and week out? Then yeah he would be.

If Barry Odom beats Georgia I'd make him coach for life.

If we miraculously beat Georgia, he saves his job. That’s worth at least $2M to him. Maybe he should get that done.

Schematically speaking.

If I were to guess they tried to implement a brand new system all at one time instead of slowly incorporating it over time.

Barry knew the old defense, they could have slowly transitioned to the new defense instead of completely nuking it.

I don’t think that’s possible. It’s like transitioning from a Mac to a Windows computer. You don’t do it over time. You do it. And then you regret it.

There’s a lot of successful teams that run the defense Mizzou tried to install. The real mistake there were the coaches BO hired to install it.

Our fans do suck. Sad but true

You mean the fans who have sold out most if not All the BB games for this season??? Those fans? Our fan base is more or less the same as most others.

1 year attendance turn around and all it took was hiring a real coach who could recruit year 1.

Putting out a competitive team can do wonders for attendance...... But that's obvious

As far as our FB program.... This is BO's team...... BO's team has won 5 of 17 games.

He's had 1 year and 5 games to show even a hint that he can fix things.. Things (defense) that he himself dismantlement....... It's not happening.

That's not on GP or the fans.

I mean he returned 8 starters on defense last year and tanked the team, if he would have left the defense alone that's easily a bowl team.

Wilson just lost to Southern Miss...

We should fire him BEFORE we hire him

Mizzou didn’t return 8 starters. Brady and Brothers replacements were also huge downgrades.

Also the coaching staff was an even bigger downgrade.

I would call Scherer a downgrade but hardly a huge one.

Our fan base is nothing like the rest of the SEC! They sellout stadiums every year with the exception of Vandy, no matter what their record is. Now they may piss and moan like everyone on here, but they still support their program! You don't see half full stadiums anywhere is the SEC except Nashville and Como.
