This came out of nowhere. I was expecting someone else. Her coaching hires aren't impressive.

By browsing a couple of UNLV forums.. Seems like she won't be missed.

Her kid is a walk on at Mizzou and apparently the Martin's and the new AD are close.

A walk-on? Especially a J-School walk-on? Something tells me he won’t even get playing time anyway.

That said, if she can’t remain impartial, the board will likely come after her like they did with Sterk when his list didn’t include Drink.

Some of their fans are also getting the notion though that they can become a top 25 FB program and become a top 25 BB program again.

They’ve never finished top 25 as a program.

And let’s not pretend their Bball program has missed the Dance for the last 8 years and hasn’t been to the elite 8 since 91.

They’re a dead program. Maybe she really is garbage in hiring. I dunno. Good thing in that regard is that we’re fine outside of ClownZo in that department.

My guess: she and Cuonzo will end up leaving at the same time.

That said, I'd like nothing better than both to have successful careers at MU.

Saw that on the forums. Also listening to the sunshine pumpers too.

Legal, NIL, and fund raising seem to be her strong points, and quite probably what Choi was most interested in.

But I'm fearing the ghost of Babs Uelling is upon us.

I read several posts regarding a shite deal she negotiated with the Raiders???

You have anything on that?

Could someone list her coaching hires, and who else was (reasonably) available to get for the position?
Would she hire an unknown like Drink?
Is she set up to navigate NIL because of a financial and legal background?

I don’t even know how to accurately see that. She’s negotiating for a former employer that was an NFL team as the AD of a school with a historically dog shite football program.

It's UNLV man, that's a tough school to be good in anything. Even when the Rebels were good in basketball 30 years ago, they had like legendary recruiting violations. Either way, I'm reading that her strengths play to our weakness which is fundraising. NIL stuff makes it more interesting. Who knows it could work, I've seen weirder.

won't fundraising be less important than previously, with the NIL? The other costs are still there, but it offsets some of the previous need for money to be deployed in recruiting. a good NIL will probably outrecruit every other factor.

We still want more facility upgrades right? Our baseball diamond is apparently an outdated piece of junk for example.

Getting vibes that the board is not feeling having a woman as an AD.

A woman and a half Mexican is the kiss of death for most of the Rant and most of TD lol.

Which is funny as most big money public universities have her “type that shall not be named” in charge and have for years.

It’s whatever though.

Not like the two guys we were pumped about prior didn’t flame out hard.

She was hired by an Academic to impress other academics. Once the cocktail party in the Ivory Tower winds down, we'll see.

Here's an interesting quote from the Thamel Yahoo article.

quote:
"One of the key behind-the-scenes voices promoting Reed-Francois' candidacy was SEC commissioner Greg Sankey, who got to know (Reed-Francois) during her time at Tennessee."

Maybe Mizzou will get favoritism in some football games?
