UConn scored 12.

2 on a safety on a ball that got past Fatony. Then gave up a junk TD late in the game. So they played fairly well.

They were helped by the fact that we finally found a team that drops the ball more than our WR's. I'll bet they had damn near 10 dropped balls. And they weren't one handed catches in the corner of the end zone they were dropping. They were in their chest more times than not.

They played ok on D, which is undoubtedly moving in the right direction. UCONN has a bad defense, but their offense had been fairly good all year.

The most encouraging thing was the pass rush. It's starting to show up. TBJ was an absolute monster tonight.

It was UConn. They would probably look better against East St. Louis also.

or maybe not

I actually thought J’Mon had changed jerseys there for awhile.

Beckner and Logan make each other better but wide open WRs dropping balls doesn't mean the secondary is making improvements. Teams are running smash and flood concepts with a little motion and someone is open early on just about every play. Walters is a big issue.

Hopefully next year, if Odom stays, he decides to make some changes on the defensive staff. Allowing the new D.C. To bring in a couple of guys may not be a bad idea.

If he stays, he needs to address 3rd down defense like yesterday. It's pathetic and drives any Mizzou fan crazy. It's one thing to play crappy on third down against the likes of Potato state and Uconn, it's another to play that awful in the SEC. If he doesn't correct that soon, he is looking at another repeat of this year and will be gone.

Ok bud, maybe egghead wasn't cool to call you, but you followed it up with this gem.

I’ll take 6 wins this year, and all of them by 1 point, and be thrilled to death! You think we should beat everyone by 20 or more to keep from being embarrassed?

You are willing to settle for mediocrity, I'm not. Yeah if we beat a SEC team by 1 point, I'll take it and move forward, but with the likes of Uconn, that's pathetic, that's not even mediocre. As the only major college in this state, we should expect more. We aren't hiding out in the old Big 8 anymore, and although the SEC is down some, it's still big boy football, and to compete, the team has to reflect more than just skidding by shite teams like Uconn. They did what they needed to do, and that was paste an inferior team, it's called showing signs of progress. I don't know how this is lost on you.

As an aside, I saw something last night that I have never seen happen before in FB at any level. The UConn coach sent Summers to the locker room after he got called on an unsportsmanlike conduct for throwing the ball at the Mizzou guy following the interception. I hope BO noted that and will toss Moore the next time he shows his arse.

Keeping a second year coach after a 6 win season isn’t settling for mediocrity.
BO is still learning how to be a HC, he probably needs 2-3 more seasons before we know how good of a HC he can be.
The 2 deep is also full of underclass men.

6 wins is also far from guaranteed.

Sounds like medocrity to me the way bluegrass describes it. If BO wins out he deserves another year. Personally I don't think he is the answer but willing to set that aside and watch. If next year is a repeat then it's time for him to go.

Which confirms it was a shite hire. You shouldn't have a terrible football team in the SEC for 6 years while some rookie figures out when to call timeouts.

It's hard to get excited about beating 2 of the worst teams in the entire country.

Saturday will tell us if this team has evolved or simply just out talented two terrible teams.

Mizzou has yet to play a clean game.

No one is saying that. Going 6-6 this year after 2 losing seasons is progress. Mizzou would also be bringing back a roster mostly intact. Moore and Witter were the only offensive starters yesterday that won’t be back next season. The defense will return 7 of the starters from the UCONN game. (Frazier, Logan, Harold and Sherrills being the only seniors)

Obviously that won’t matter if Mizzou doesn’t win enough this year. Mizzou probably needs at least 3 more wins, though I could see a case for bringing BO back at 5 total wins.

UConn is done, and it was a blowout! Cudos to you, but we need wins in any way we can get them. If it’s by 1 or 31 I’ll take it.
Of course they’re showing progress, and nobody is happier about that than me. I just didn’t like the assumption that you were something special and I was an egghead just because I’ll take a win anyway we get it!

I dont think anyone would be against Odom getting year 3 if he can make a bowl.

And somehow we could be exactly as bad next year on defense as we are this year.

Missouri -14 was the lock of the week.

And the sharps hit uconn late, and Missouri went from -14 -120, to -14 +105, i unloaded all the bullets i had in the account, wanted to bet more, but went 0-8 earlier in day(soccer and football).

Team needs to hire a good DC, immediately after season ends, and coaches staffs of fired coaches need jobs.
