Supposedly the woman is going to the prosecutor to take back the accusations, just a rumor though

Normally I’d agree, but let’s at least let the facts come out. Wouldn’t be the first time someone has been falsely accused.

Wouldn't be the first time a woman figured out she just chopped down the money tree. Hard to make it stick if that happens.

And I've got no patience or sympathy for anyone that strikes a woman. Your fault, her fault, get away, get out.

I don't know how you walk back from this. There would have to be independent witnesses that say nothing happened. The alleged victim just walking back her story doesn't cut it. That's pretty damn typical in these types of cases.

If it were up to me, you let the system play out and drop his arse. No use for someone who hits women.

You are correct, but if he didn’t hit a women it would be a damn shame for a guy to lose his future over something that didn’t happen.

If it did, zero tolerance

The fact that cops found physical evidence to support her claims makes me lean to him being a douchebag. We'll wait and see but I'm trying to think what that physical evidence would be. Blood in her car? Bruises?

In most cases its bruisers or scratches. I cant think of anything else it would be.

I honestly hope they don’t kick him off the team over this nonsense

ETA: Where did you see the charges were dropped?

Are you saying because charges are dropped it means he did nothing? At least I hope that what you're thinking and not that beating a woman is nonsense.

No state charges are currently pending. He was only arrested and then released on bond. The prosecutor will determine in the future if charges are warranted. What I wouldn't be surprised is if the victim filed an affidavit of non-prosecution, which is pretty typical and which the prosecuting attorney will also take into consideration. If there is enough other evidence (witnesses/physical evidence) he will still be charged. If that other evidence isn't sufficient enough he either won't be charged or will plead to a much lesser offense.

Tough situation because I don't want a douchebag on the team who skates by simply because the victim still thinks he loves her but then I don't want the kid punished if he did nothing. Certainly there had to be other people out with them at 1:45 a.m. or whatever time it was.

From Matter

Latest on Tre Williams' situation:
* His mother tells me prosecutor informed her he won't be charged in domestic assault case
* Prosecutor has not returned messages seeking comment/confirmation.
* As of today, police had not filed a probable cause statement with circuit court.

If he didn’t do anything then I don’t want the kid to have his future ruined. It’s that simple. Who knows what happened, but if no charges are being filed then I’m not sure you CAN (without looking bad) even kick him off the team without him admitting something to the coaches.

Of course if he did nothing then nothing should happen to him. That's pretty obvious.

Him being charged or not, I will part ways there. I don't need charges to boot someone. I've seen way too many cases with no charges where everyone and his brother knows the dude beat on her. I would presume that the school does it's own digging and if they find evidence that makes it more likely than not that he assaulted her, then boot him, charges or not. If your investigation shows that more likely than not nothing had happened, then reinstate him.

Yes, a lower standard than beyond a reasonable doubt but guess what. It ain't a court room. Go whichever way the scales tip.

A friend of the victim told me that when the police arrived there were scratches on her neck, told them they were from him chocking her. Tre’s mom is saying that the whole story is fabricated. Doesn’t look like the victim wants to go anywhere with this. It’ll be interesting how they handle it from here.

Regardless of what actually happened, I hate seeing stuff like this. Hopefully the truth comes out

Don’t need physical evidence on a domestic call. Doesn’t mean someone is guilty it just means the police are being cautious.
