and it would not be so if we were in the Big 12, the Big Ten, the MAC, or the Mountain West.

That is something that all of us on this Mizzou forum know.

But there is no amount of explaining that that will make most internet yahoos like the ones conducting the 22 page thread of useless drivel on the front page of SEC Rant forum right now understand that.

It's a down season and string of fluke injuries at the absolute worst possible time, when we have the entirety of the SEC fanbase and the nation sitting in judgment of us. It just frickin' sucks. A&M has had seasons like this repeatedly for the last 10 years, now of course they finally find a coach who seems to know his head from his arse and gets them playing at least marginally decently enough to make a good first impression. While we, who have made the Aggies our absolute bitch for the last 10 years, nose dive into this shitstorm we are in.

Mother of frick.

I know life isn't fair and shite happens, but its also true that perception is reality...and these people's perception is just off. Cuz this shite they are seeing and judging us off this year is not who we've been developing into as a program. And for crissakes its not because of the SEC. We could just as easily have lost to UCF and Arizona State. We are just not close to ourselves right now. But the shite falls on deaf ears because nobody outside our camp gives a frick and many of them were predisposed to say we suck/don't belong/etc anyway, and this bullshite season and set of cirumstances makes it all to easy to grab it and wave it around as justification for their stance.

Well, whatever. We are Mizzou fans. We've been through worse than this. Difference though is, in previous times worse than this we didn't have this much of a national magnifying glass on us and this many people judging us for the first and only time. Bleh.

Yep this is the part that sucks the most, first impressions are hard to change. It's disappointing we're making about the worst first impression ever...

Yup, bad timing for a season like this. It's making the rant about unreadable due to morons flying off the handle after our loss to Vandy. So many bad flames.

I didn't read the whole post cause it was long, and I'm watching the Cardinals game. But, I'm willing to bet I agree. This has kind of been the perfect storm of shite so far.

My only gripe with GP so far is his seeming unwillingness to play to his strengths on offense. The line sucks for for pass protection, but the run works. Run he ball and work the play action into the offense that exists currently and we score points, AND keep the d off the field. Two birds with one stone.

However, I'm no D-1 football coach, so wtf do I know?

Good post. Agree completely.

The tards on the SECr are not interested in reality most of the time. Its like a giant never ending episode of Jerry Springer.

Yep. Which is why its a shame.. because we are being introduced to a lot of new people, and we're not showing who we really are.

I made a post on STL Today before the season started.

I said the season was over. Our o-line problems won't let the offense develop. Causing an otherwise good defense to get overworked and exposed, causing us to lose games we shouldn't. All the while looking like crap. Looks like that is how it's gone.

My concern is that this will carry over into next year. We just didnt recruit the kind of guys upfront that you need in the SEC. This isn't on anyone IMHO. Obviously there was no way for GP and staff to know the SEC storm was on the horizon.

Methinks recruiting plans will change after this year.

However, I'm still pissed about the snap issues. Looked better last week though.

Well still, that doesn't completely explain what have to be more viewed as straight recruiting "misfires" up front with guys like Nick Demien and Chris Freeman....I mean Demien was national Top 100 recruit with offers from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Oregon etc; Chris Freeman had offers from Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, Nebraska, Wisconsin....and yet even with all the injuries these kids never play and as alluded to in thread below, when they do play we can see why they don't.

So either its some fluke misfires *or* our OL coaches have not been coaching up the talent we have onhand adequately...

I'm with ya. Thats some thread over there on the main board. Got involved cause just don't want our guys to get ganged up on. Right or wrong, if your a Mizzou fan your family dude and I'm gonna be there for ya. I'm seeing aTm fans crawling out of the woodwork now that they got a couple wins and they're starting to act like some Hog fans around here.

Franklins getting to set finaly. Shame it took a knee injury to get it done, but maybe his shoulder will get some rest and he'll be back in a few weeks and play like his old self. I'm hoping. I'm behind Berk also. Gotta rally behind who we got. Mental is just as important as physical, so we gotta back'm.
