I’m not blaming him. We just have a team that doesn’t know how to close. They don’t know how to win. We were down 1 with 11 minutes and change. 4 minutes later, we’re down 20.

Van Leer’s stat line was awful among a sea of awfulness.

3 rebounds 0 assists 0 steals 0 blocks 0 points 4 turnovers in 11 minutes

Also, the interior defense has been nonexistent.

This is what I was talking about. Auburn did shoot well from the 3, but we had multiple plays inside where Auburn got a hilariously easy layup in large part because we just gave up and didn't care to defend. That pissed me off.

Our athletic quotient is woefully below the average SEC team. Auburn has a very athletic team. It showed last night.

Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas, A&M, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and Alabama are all easily ahead of us in pure athleticism. MSU might be.

Cuonzo is recruiting athletes. We just have to wait for them to get here, then get some experience.

I’m not disputing that. I’m pointing out where we are.

I’m just pointing out that Cuonzo is changing the caliber of athletes Mizzou is bringing in.

We have virtually no quickness at the guard spot, and our most athletic Big is a complete non factor in over half the games.

Basically we have to shoot and rebound really well to win games.

On the bright side: When all of Pearl's wins at Auburn are vacated, we'll get this one back.

I spoke with a friend of mine today who has season tickets along with 10 of his family members. He said the mood last night at the game with the fans in the stands is not good. Especially towards Cuonzo. They could hear him talking to his team during timeouts, and it isn’t good, a few players like Tilmon look very disinterested in what he had to say. From what I understand, his x’s and 0’s are not very good. He basically is chewing arse then pumping them back up. No real strategy. I asked him if he thought team was regressing from the beginning of the year, and he said most definitely. I guess he sees a lack of hustle and enthusiasm on the players part, and there seems to be some dissension on the team. More than just Phillips too.

Lol. They were a flawed team at the beginning of the year playing blood donors. This is what happens when an untalented backcourt with a couple of really tall 18 year olds take on experienced major conference athletes. Sure they shot great when the windows weren't closing on their fingers. People were fooling themselves if they thought Barnett and Robertson were going to carry this team without Mike Porter creating space and scoring.

Yea I was at the game. Cuonzo has done a great coaching with the roster he has to work with. Once he fully upgrades the roster Mizzou will be a NCAA tournament team pretty much every year.

I don’t know if it’s a consenses of all Tiger fans in the stands, but there are more than a few that feel like he’s a terrible “coach”. These folks have been season ticket holders since the 70’s and have seen a lot of Mizzou games. The things we can’t see on TV, they get to see up close and personal.

Has anyone heard what kind of grades Tilmon is getting in school? One of their grandkids has a class with him, and he rarely shows up to class. His eligibility could be an issue going into next year I suspect. His grandson went on to say that he thinks Tilmon will transfer to a lower classification of school for next year. Juco, DII etc...

Would you be happy if they rehired Kim Anderson?

The best description of our team in few words. A hint to moderate our expectations and a reminder that we have who we have. Our current players aren't going to suddenly become better athletes, no matter the coaching.

the year 2020 may be promising, however.
