Old geezer time. Plus, it's cold weather football time. Here's something other than head coach talk.

The game: 1978 Mizzou vs. the #2 nubbers. LINK

It was a great road win by Mizzou vs. #2 Children of the Corn! I was a Junior that year and one of my all-time favs. We had some players. Kellen Winslow, Phil Bradley, Chris Garlich, Leo Lewis.

Here is the announcer's call on maybe the GREATEST individual offensive play in Missouri football history, IMHO. A beautiful, tough run by "THE SIKESTON TRAIN", RB James Wilder.

•Wilder literally shoves a tackler aside, pounds ahead into the endzone (Grass: "WILDER!" Roe: "WILDER!" Grass: "JIM WILDER!" Roe and Grass: unintelligble loud noises. Roe: "DID YOU SEE THAT?? DID YOU SEE HIM?? DID YOU SEE HIM TAKE THAT MAN AND THROW HIM DOWN?? Grass: "You will not believe what Wilder did." Roe: "He had a guy wrapped around his waist, he just grabbed hold of him and threw him into the ground like he was a piece of turf!" Grass: "Unbelievable!")

It's posted on YouTube. Older video but just watch Wilder #32 at the 4:34 mark. LINK

This is the same Mizzou team that beat LSU in the Liberty Bowl.

How about some more great Mizzou individual performances?

Maclin always had a hell of a game against the Nubs. Sorry, I was born in 1983 so there wasn't much to brag about until the 2000s. Always cool to see stories for the glory years in the 60's and 70's. Especially if there is video.

Unrelated: I don't know if you can send PMs on here. Kills would like to talk to you. About what?
I dunno. I don't mettle in other people's business.

Awesome Gary Pinkel story written by Dave Matter

Maybe the entire 2008 Nebraska game? I loved that Daniel to JMac connection in the first minute.

Ahh Al Onofrio. Could beat any top 10 team in the land. Couldn't beat Iowa State, St. Mary's school for girls, or Kansas.

That 78 team had natty level talent

Love the Wilder play that game is what really started my Mizzou fandom as a young kid. I would have to put the Fake FG vs Nubs 2003 if you count that as an offensive play. Still have never heard Fairot as loud as that play. Also from the same game the throw back TD to Brad was huge.

James Wilder, Earl Gant, and Gerry Ellis. Could we have just one of them right now? Wilder would have a problem running behind this line

I'll go with the entire Nebraska game when we beat them for the first time in 25 years. 2004, I think? Brad Smith ran all over them that game, and it was a thing of beauty.

Another great (recent) moment was the KO return for TD to start the 2010 Oklahoma game.

Yes, 2003! Butter fingers on my phone. That was a great game. I was there, screaming myself hoarse.
