I know people didn't want to accept this, but this team is bad...really really bad.

I love coach Gates but this season has really got me befuddled. Grill is not the missing piece. He would have ben a complete non-factor vs UF. Tonje might be much better than he showed in limited time but he is still only getting this team maybe 2 more wins.

How did gates look at this roster during the offseason and say to himself, "yeah, this squad is good enough for us this season."

Also, with the odds increasing we will approach or set some records for worst year in the SEC, can Gates keep all these freshman and the incoming class intact?

It is bad.

Went to the game last night. Saw an amazing talent waste an incredible performance on a very bad team. I’m talking, of course, about halftime legendary performer - Red Panda.

Anyways, this team is arse and they don’t like each other. Those two might be connected.

They’ve overcoached Shaw. All the bigs were utterly lost on defense the entire game. They couldn’t rebound to save their life.

I looked up at the scoreboard with about 8 minutes left and the highest number of rebounds of the players in the game was 2.

East led the team in rebounds. He didn’t play much of the second half due to fouls. (We had the duo of doom reffing the game - game fixer Olandis Pool and Doug Shows. But we didn’t even play well enough to complain about them.)

This is a historically bad team. Except for the last nine years of Mizzou basketball.

Not bad for an 0-4 team and single digit temperatures.

Probably 10000+

I’m not surprised. I think we all know the talent isn’t there. And knew it before the year even started.

Quite frankly after watching the Memphis game in person, the lack of talent was easy to confirm.

Let’s see what next season holds with actual talent being on the floor. Until then, I am not going to get that worked up about it.

They stand a good chance of going 0-fer the entire SEC season.

I though Honor had a better game. He doesn't look like the same guy.

I hear Pittsburg State has contacted Gates.

Surprisingly good turnout but it looks like the student section starting to fall off. We simply do not have anyone on the roster that can defend against a team with a big post player. Don't know what Gates saw in Pierce and Butler when he signed them-they will never be strong enough to play inside and we can get better outside shooters, which is all they seem to want to do. Simply no grit on this team as exemplified when Gates let the Alabamba coach shove Shaw and Gates did nothing.

The simple answer about Pierce and Butler is that Gates didn't recruit them to play inside. He has said he wants everyone shooting threes.

I think everyone expected a down year but this is historically atrocious I would also caution those saying yes but next year. I wouldn’t expect a lot from a team playing true freshmen even if they’re talented. Gates is gonna have to figure out how to keep everyone around for the next two years before we are fielding a competitive team.

Then he is not a very good evaluator of talent-they suck at shooting the 3.

This is all 100% true. We have one player coming next year who can make an impact as a freshman.
