I heard about it on twitter but didn't see it...what happened?

Ball was hit right back to Madson on a liner when the Indians had runners on at 1st and 3rd with one out. Madson made a piss poor throw to 1st in an attempt to pick the runner off and turn two. A good throw and he would have been out by a mile. But he was called safe. As this was happening the runner on 3rd took off down the line and scored.
The Royals then challenged the play but it appeared they only challenged the play at 1st base. The challenge confirmed he was safe. In the meantime Moose was adamant that the Indian runner did not tag up. The video showed he did NOT tag up.
The question then became what would happen next. The Royals were out of challenges but after the 7th inning the rule is that you can ask for a review, but there was some confusion as to whether or not you can have a challenge and then ask for a review on the same play (in other words the Royals could have really screwed up here by not asking to review the right part of the play).
The production crew at the K kept showing how the runner did not tag up during the play on the video board and the Umps saw it and conferenced and called the guy out for not tagging up.
I am still not sure about the process of the challenge and then asking for the review immediately after for action related to the same play. But in the end they got the call right.
-The 3rd base umpire was caught not even looking at the base. He was distracted by the play at first. Has to be pretty embarrassing because the runner was no where close to tagging up.

Looks like we are going to be playing the Rangers. Toronto is essentially up 2 games on us now with the tiebreaker.
Damn you Baltimore! You had that win last night!

Home field is still there for the taking. Down to one game now. KC just needs to bear down and get it done for the fans. They've supported through the ups and downs. They deserve homefield advantage.

I'd rather have the 2 seed to be honest. That matches us up with the Rangers in the ALDS rather than the Yankees. I think we would be better off that way.
Baseball seeding is more about the match-ups than home-field advantage.

Not great. They won the season series 4-3. We were 2-1 with an even run differential at home, and 1-3 with Toronto outscoring us by 6 at Toronto.

I'm really not worried about the Jays. It's really pretty even. If Yost sets his rotation cotrectly, I think it'll be about even with homefield being in our favor.

Not me. I want the Jays to have to beat us here. I think it's going to be down to KC and Toronto for the ALCS. KC had some troubles with their new fake crap grass.

Toronto is tough, but also do for a slump. If they stay on their tear they will wipe out anyone in their path.
Royals still have a glimmer of hope here at home field. It would be good for the Royals to play Toronto here at the spacious K with cold weather as much as possible.
The fun is that American League West situation, with Minnesota mixed in. Should be a fun weekend to see how that division and the Wild Card shake out.

Who do you want. Yankees or Astros? I think I'd rather have the Yanks.

Yep, would prefer the Yankees as well. I think Houston has better pitching.

Right back at ya.
Don't know how your playoff picture is shaping up, but I'd be a little scared of the cubbys. They are flaming hot right now.
