Wasn't directed towards you. I do agree with you on parts of your post about ESL and some of their players and Sunkett.

I think more people would take you serious if you didn't bitch so much about their post. We don't care about your T shirts or the STD's you are getting.

I'm cool with that.

Would rather interest 20 somethings hipster girls at the bar than middled aged fat guys on the internet.

Funny that the things I say are the kinds of things, and sometimes exactly what Dave Matter would say on given situations. Rational and objective thought isn't popular with people who just want to let out their frustrations like fanboys. I get it. Mix in the occasional jab right at the core of peoples most sensitive areas and this is the result. People becoming obsessed with trying to get you back. It is what it is. It doesn't bother me.

Some guy we had to ban from the Mizzou board because he kept douching it up.

I never said you should give a shite about him.

I was looking at the Illini top targets and they 4 offers to ESL players. Mizzou has 2 offers to ESL players.

Thomas, Estes, 3 Star OLB Terez Lagrone, and 3 Star S James Knight. Does anyone have info on the other two players?

This might be another reason Illinois has a better chance at Thomas and might flip Estes.

For Riverview, the Mississippi is to the East and it's in Missouri. ESL is in ILL and the Mississippi River is to the west.

I hope they flip Estes. It was a goodwill offer anyway.

Lovie is black and Mizzou didn't play Sunkett's guys enough, in his mind. That's where this story starts and ends.

Sleeping Tiger will you wake up, PLEASE!

Those kids don't care about Lovie being Black! He's coached in the LEAGUE(NFL) and that gives him an advantage over Odom they have never heard of and a new head coach.

Obviously. He really turned around Illinois this year. I can see why they'd be attracted to it.

Of course Lovie being an NFL coach is part of the appeal. He's also a seemingly great man with trustworthy qualities. He's a warm soul.

But Sunkett's new magnetism to Illinois is related to Lovie being black. It's part of it. I know that might not be politically correct, but it's probably true.

Not a topic I think needs to go any further on here.

I heard this interview when it happened and was surprised when Sunkett said Odom hadn't been to East St. Louis, wondering what the heck was up. Sunkett sounded very sincere and talked like Mizzou wasn't out of it with Thomas, but needed to work harder recruiting them.

Well apparently someone else heard and it brought it up in the last Dave Matter chat. His reply...

I've since checked with sources - the best source possible in this case - and Sunkett's comment is untrue. East St. Louis High was among one of Odom's first stops he made the day after he got the Mizzou job. He also raced back to St. Louis to attend the East St. Louis-CBC game hours after MU lost to West Virginia back in September. Head coaches are allowed to be on site to evaluate one game a year per high school and that was the one ESL game Odom could attend this year. (ESL plays several home games on Saturdays when the Tigers also play.) NCAA rules dictate how many times a college head coach can visit a high school during a given recruiting period. Odom planned his one visit to ESL for the winter visiting period for January.

So WTF?? Maybe there's some truth to Sunkett trying to grease the skids for Lovie. I dunno.
