Spinoff from the Rant: what was the first game you attended involving Mizzou?

First game I attended was in 2009, Mizzou vs kansas at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO. Sat in box suite near the 50 yard line. Mizzou was trailing kansas 39-36 and had just punted the ball away with under 3 minutes left. Mizzou obviously hadn't been able to stop their offense so we left to beat the crowd assuming they'd get a few first downs and run out the clock. However, while walking to the car Mizzou sacked their QB for a safety to make it 39-38 still trailing. We listened on the radio as Mizzou drove the field and as time expired we kicked a field goal to win 41-39
My first game in Columbia was 2010 Mizzou vs San Diego State. #25 Mizzou was trailing at home 24-20 with 51 seconds to play in the game. I had already ripped up my ticket and left the stadium in a blind rage. While leaving the parking lot we had forced a punt from SDSU and had 51 seconds to drive 68 yards since a FG wouldn't work. I was almost back to the car when I heard the stadium erupt. Mizzou avoided the upset at home, and both teams would go on to win 10 games.
My first basketball game was against Truman State at Mizzou Arena in 2011....uneventful

Heck, I can't remember. Was probably only months old. The first game I remember is actually a baseball game when I was a little kid.

The first game I ever went to that I can remember was vs Texas in 2000. The final year of the Larry Smith era and Justin Smith's last year as a Tiger.
This was when I really became a hardcore Mizzou football fan. Finally going to a game sealed my fate as a Mizzou fan although we always watched on TV when they were on and listened to them on the radio.
My oldest brother was in Law school at the time and it was the first time we went to visit for a football game. We always went up for visits for basketball games during his undergrad but had never gone for football games.
I don't really remember the game too much. Pretty sure we got blown out. I just remember yelling "Godzilla" a lot.
I really enjoyed going to Hearnes to see those Stormin' Norman teams as a kid though. I will never forget those days.

I will always regret not having gotten to be at Hearnes during the Norm days. I am enamored with Hearnes although I never got to see any games there.
My first memories of Mizzou basketball were going to watch Quin Snyder's Tigers practice at Kemper Arena in KC. I got Clarence Gilbert to sign a basketball I had brought...man that made my day as a kid.

It is going to be a sad day when Hearnes gets torn down for a softball stadium
At least I think that's what they are considering.

2003 vs Nebraska Football Game, ending those 25 years of hell was so sweet (Huskers are still my most hated team).

My first game at Missouri was the infamous 5th down game against Colorado.
I was up in Missouri that weekend and wanted to see what Missouri football was like?
Nothing like being blatantly cheated on the football field. What did Missouri get? A loss. Colorado? They went on to be National Champions.

My first football game was 1989 against TCU.
We won, I got Kellen Winslow and Doug Smiths autographs, and I got to toss the ball around on the field during halftime.
I'll never forget that.
First basketball game? Had to be around '87? I remember Derrick Chevious.

Your user name fits.
Did you drink beer with Norm at parties?

I was only 10 years old but I don't remember seeing Norm at the Italian Village/Gaebler's Black and Gold. He may have been at the Shack.

First game I ever watched was Mizzou beating kansas in Columbia in 1997, a week after I was born...
I attended the last women's basketball game at the Hearnes Center, I think I went to at least one men's game there but I don't remember. Mizzou basketball has never lost when I have been in attendance (California, Hawai'i @ Sprint Center, Baylor in 2012, Vandy and Florida in 2013 at Mizzou Arena) and they have been some pretty big games too.
Never been to a football game sadly... Will probably make it to one next year.

My first game was in 1984. Mizzou/Notre Dame. I was 9 yrs old and my uncle took me to the game. Lost a close one 14-16 but that did it for me. It was all Mizzou all the time thereafter.

Couldn't even tell you. might have been in 95 or 96. Maybe earlier. I've been going to Tigers games ever since I could remember.

Pretty much me. 95, 96 I would have been 4 and 5 respectively, so I would say that's probably when I attended my first football/basketball games. But as long as I can remember my dad had season tickets to both sports and I would accompany him a couple times each year. Being from Columbia and all.
