Mizzou football and basketball aren't big time programs. Let's say there was a 5 star DE here in Omaha considering Mizzou. Do you think we have boosters who would send a bagman or are we not at that level?

Only my opinion...We have no bagmen. Maybe a stray hundred dollar handshaker, but not even many of those.

I think you're pretty much right on this. There's probably other forms it takes but nothing big like you had with Cam Newton.

Pinkel wanted nothing to do with bagmen, one of the reasons he pretty much abandoned St Louis. (One must admit, St Louis HS coach's are a particularly venal lot) Odom never figured this out either. To the delight of the academics, who have yet to figure out that Football brings in both money and admissions.

Kim wanted to TEACH basketball, not really recruit. He never figured out that managing recruiting and the associated bagmen was the real job of an FBS basketball coach. Of course, the academmics were entranced by this as well. (See Above) Not sure Cuanzo knows a way out of this.

Thus MU has no such handy folks about, but a plethora of folks ready to report the appearance of any such.

St. Louis, like most major US cities, is built on the idea of quid pro quo. It is completely ingrained into the consciousness.

Upvote for using the word venal.

Mizzou isn't on that level but gets in trouble with the NCAA as if it engages more in that stuff.

Eh. Not really. Asking for money to steer a kid to a school isn’t capitalism.

Tough to argue with that kind of stupidity.

when your argument consists of calling someone stupid, that is the ultimate measure of stupidity
