OK hows this...Mason comes in as db coach, Co DC? Also Haley gets no more free passes. He's got to produce some pass rush.

3. Mason is available. Black coaches in St. Louis still harbor negativity toward Mizzou. Masons character overcomes that shite. Or at least gives us the very best chance. Also when Mason is in a living room talking academics and commitment to character, who is going to doubt him?

Cuonzo proved this is BS. STL will always find a way to hate Mizzou even with a black coach.

I'd be all-in on bringing Mason in as a DB coach or any form of assistant. I doubt it will happen since he's going to be in high demand as a DC, but I'd be for it. Heck I'd be for bringing in a defensive assistant Drinkwitz has a relationship with from a previous stops who he thinks could cut it as a DC or in a position of oversight to help with quality control. And I'm with you on Haley needing to get results.

I hate being in a position where it looks like I'm defending the defensive staff because I'd have no problem showing all of them the door if there were better replacements, but I also think they had next to nothing to work with especially from a depth perspective.

They just signed 6 DLs and 4 DBs and Danny Heitert thinks they hit a grand slam in replenishing their depth in both areas. I'd just be surprised if Drinkwitz didn't let the people who recruited them coach them, that's all.

If 2021 is a repeat I'm sure he will clean house. Just the fact that Drink so targeted the areas he saw as the most glaring (DL, DB, OL) tells me he's not going to be forever patient. Unfortunately IMO we're going to have to be for at least another year.

I said at least it gives us a better chance. We gotta try, someone is gonna get that talent, might as well be Mizzou. Mack Brown pulled it off in NC, we have to do the same.

I am old enough to have seen this show a few times already.

Don't waste the energy. When you win some STL kids will come out with interest in Mizzou. Recruit those kids. Do not waste any time generically recruiting the area. It will never work.

team exceeded all expectations for 2020 and I don't think he will for the reasons I outlined.

The defense didn’t really exceed any expectations.

This is largely accurate.
