He "doubled the number of wins from last year."

Illini AD's letter explaining the extension.

(Lovie went from 2 wins to 4.)

Missouri went 7 to 8 wins! Give him what Lovie Smith got! I will be happy too! Huge reason for raise is to compete with other head coaches that probably telling recruits that I am paid this much money because I am that much better than those who are getting less money. Money talk can help get top recruits.

I don't know how things work on your planet, Mr. Spaceman, but here on Earth it isn't common recruiting practice for coaches to tell recruits how much they make, and that those who make less aren't good coaches.

We are talking about 15-18 years old recruits that do not have their minds set straight sometimes. Why did Lovie got the raise? Isn't that a head-scratcher to pay him a lot for having another losing season? Do not forget Arky head coach is paid much more than Odom.

We don’t need to change coaches. Next year we may have to rely on our RB’s and defense.

With a new coaching staff that will definitely drop us to 3 to 5 wins.

Might lose some recruits as well and it will be like Arky all over again and same for Illinois. There is no guarantee the next head coach will be good or better.
