Out off conference game against WV early could hurt with a untested QB, but they are losing their QB as well. The other 3 out of conference games should be wins. Vandy losing their QB and UK losing Snell and their DE should probably be wins as well. That should give us 5 wins.

WV, SC, Arkansas, Tenn, UF, and Ole Miss should be Toss ups.

Having Arky,UF, and UT at home late in the season should help.

Don’t know much about Ole Miss or WV. Win 2 of the toss up games and that gives us at least 7 wins. I think 7 to 8 regular season wins is realistic with a new QB.

Ole Miss loses their QB and possibly two elite WRs. Should be a win as should Arkansas. If those teams aren’t in the W column for us, we will be struggling for bowl eligibility.

Schedule is notably easier next year as well. Drop Bama add Ole Miss.

Drop Purdue (road) and Memphis, add West Virginia (home) (minus Grier, possibly with a new coach).

That alone is massive.

The problem I see the most is that we haven't let Wilson or Powell do anything in mop up duty. They just keep handing it off over and over when they come in. Im sorry but you have your back ups in the game, let them throw and play a normal game to see what you have. No shame in running up the score if you have back ups in.

Looking at the schedule is a mirage. You really don't know what you're dealing with. Hell, Arkansas could turn it around and beat us next year.

If we add a transfer, we would have 3 possible QB's for next year I think. That goes a long way to insure against injury, a dud performer, etc....
I think the guys on the roster would do fine, but there will be a learning curve and we'd have to count on dropping a game in the first half of the season that they shouldn't.

There is the risk of losing one or more QB's if we add a transfer. Which could kill our depth for 2-3 years.

I've long thought Pinkel's grooming of the heir apparent QB was a master stroke.

Your starter feels pressure to perform and the youngster doesn't get thrown in green when it becomes his job.

So if the two frontrunners for Kelly Bryant are Mizzou and Auburn... does Gus Malzahn lowering his buyout help us, hurt us, or no impact regarding Bryant?

Secondarily, why would Malzahn agree to it? And does it help us, hurt us, or no impact on any bump of Odom's contract and buyout? It would be nice to see a little sanity restored to these rediculous contracts.

I think the general dysfunction at auburn can do nothing but help us.

Gus could very well be fired mid season next year

I've never been as down on Powell as some. Doesn't mean I was high on him. Just haven't seen enough to really know anything on either him or Wilson. The only two things that stand out to me is a pretty good deep ball that Powell through early in the year and it seems like he had a pass play that broke down and he had the smarts to just dump the ball instead of trying to make something out of nothing.
