Why do you keep saying pay for play? That's three times. Are you trying to insinuate that getting the Porters is some kind of bad thing? Shady?
CCM is playing the game, and thank god we have a coach capable and willing.

Sorry, but averaging over 10 losses a year, is average
Did some quick math on a couple of the top coaches
Bill Self has averaged 10 losses a season in his first 3 seasons at each job
Calipari also averaged 10 losses in the first 3 years at each job
Billy Donovan averaged 12 in the first 3 at each job
Gregg Marshall averaged 13 in the first 3 years at each job
Holtman averaged 14 losses a season
Martin has averaged 13 losses in the first 3 at each job.
He may never match those coaches level of success, but it's not that much different than how those elite coaches did.

He has never had a player like Porter Jr.
Hoping Phillips and Puryear can be the kind of grinding hard workers Martin was as a player and seems to like coaching.
Hoping Barnett turns out to be a consistent above average player.
Think those 4 would make a very competitive team. Hoping that and the hype surrounding Porter could help Cuonzo keeping the recruiting wins in STL and KC areas going.
If he can consistently get some recruiting wins every year, I think Martin can raise his ceiling.
You can point to something at each of his previous 3 stops that made success there very hard/impossible to attain.
We'll see.

He's a good x's and o's coach, but he's just like his teacher Keady(Purdue) all about the defense. He needs to get an offensive minded assistant to put more emphasis on offense in the half court game when Mizzou has the ball. Keady believed that defense created offense, but that doesn't apply in the half court game.

Noted, and like I said, your no spin approach with facts is appreciated.
Again, I'm not saying he's not going to be a good coach....... All I'm looking at is his record and stats to this point.
I"m eager to see his squad on the floor next year. I'll be closely following his recruiting efforts too.
After what seems to be an eternity under KA. It's nice to be optimistic against for Tiger BBall

Walker is the guy we need to target. Not only is he an ace recruiter. He's been with Groce for awhile and they ran a pretty open offensive system.
Webster
Porter Sr
Walker
That's a great staff.

Yeah I read that Illi board and they are petrified of losing Walker especially to Mizzou. Good reason why.

Are you complaining?
Usually it's a lackluster critical appraisal on what we got and didn't get.
I hope every STL kid reads it and drinks the kool-aid

Exactly. The day he was hired was the most exciting day for Mizzou hoops in a very long time. Needed some buzz. Definitely created some buzz.
