Pinson-everything I thought he would be. Im 100% sold he will be a star.

Pickett-Biggest surprise. I thought he would be on the bench very often.... boy was I wrong. Dude is going to be a JT Tiller type. Not going to wow you but will get shite done.

Watson- huge letdown in my opinion. Shows flashes but he misses some shots way the frick off. 3 air balls today.. looks scared.

Santos- I am disappointed here. I haven't given up yet and believe he is a good player, just needa confidence. But, very disappointed thus far.

Mark Smith- excited but sad. Excited he is becoming what he showed in high school and not at illinios but the lingering injury is concerning.

Suggs- dude never quits trying. I appteciate his never quit attitude.

I like Watson, he can be a really good 4 yr player. Has a good stroke too. Also knocked down some important shots too today.

The key is keeping them for 4 years and not losing them. If CM can stick around for 4 years and keep them here, we may be good by then. Fact is we don't have 1 and done type talent, so it takes them 4 years and even then, most aren't NBA level talent.

...and this is the reason that I'm not sold on Fletcher(Vashon) and C. Love(CBC) if they choose Mizzou will make them any better.

Santos was a reach when they offered. I will give him another year to get his "sea legs" and see if he can contribute.

The problem I see is there is no forwards that can help next year or 2020-2021 that are on the roster now.

Where are 4 Center/forwards going to come from to help that out?

Judging by who Mizzou has offered, it doesn’t look like the plan is to play two bigs on the court together going forward.

Looks like it’s more of a 1 big, 1 ball handler, 1 big guard, 2 interchangeable guards.

Santos is a big guard
Jackson is unique in that he looks like he can move anywhere from the 3 to the 5. Maybe the move will be to more of a 5 out system. Whoever hs the mismatch can be the post on that specific possession

No, he’s not. He can’t dribble the ball three times in a row.

He’s not really a forward either. He’s a guard kind of like Barnett, except all the foot injuries seem to have zapped his athleticism.

Santos should put on 35 lbs and play TE.

Mitchell Smith could have a nice career helping elderly women get their cats out of trees.

Trade Santos to the football team for WR Justin Smith

So he’s a guard without the dribbling, shooting or athleticism?

He use to have shooting and athleticism. He shot 37% from 3 on 101 3’s his freshman season.

Plus Santos had pretty good handles and the injury has taken a lot of from him or he just lost his confidence.

Check this out:

These highlights show you that this guy can play.

Santos is easily the biggest disappointment on the team (I did think Watson would be better too). I had read a few different places how high the staff was on him and he just hasn’t displayed any of the athleticism you thought he would.

Santos is an example of a players highlight film making him look way better than he was.

At UIC he flashed high level athleticism, but didn’t always play with consistent effort. That bears out in a lot of his stats. He also started really slow, maybe that is a result of all the foot problems.
