Seriously, some of ya'all have lost your goddamn minds. (Either that or you're 15 years old...one or the other).

"Keep looking for a coach til you hit a home run"

"Don't accept mediocrity"

"Staff has obviously lost the team"

And it goes on and on and on.

The staff did lose this team.

And our coordinators are horrid to mediocre.

I don't care anymore. Truly...I'm meh about this season.

I don't think Mizzou nation is insane for expecting more from Pinkel and the team. I mean, he publicly called out Mizzou fans and big money boosters before season to make certain that the fans showed up to all of the games and that big money invested in facilities.

All of that happened.

Guess who didn't follow thru on his end?

If you continue this type of attitude, you can suck a dickerson.

Agree that things need to be shaken up. But unless you have a home run in the wings...and I mean a HOME RUN...you're risking absolutely everything.

Besides...I didn't see them losing the team as much as I did lack of leadership on the field. It was in crunch time against Vandy, Syracuse and Florida when things went bad. We were in position to win each of those

yeah, but you just said it best...lack of leadership on the field. Hell, lack of leadership on and off the field.

What makes you think that all of the sudden Pinkel's amazing leadership qualities come back next year? I believe that next year will be more of the same. With Pinkel, we'll probably win the same amount of games or perhaps a couple more. If we win a couple more games, that still leaves us as a 7 win team...which Mizzou athletics isn't willing to accept anymore.

I agree with most of what you've said. If he is indeed a goner, we better hire a true Superstar Coach or we're going to take a huge step backward.

All I know for certain is that Mizzou football is in crisis right now, and if we're not careful, we'll have wasted a really good team full of talent, and we'll have wasted DGB.

It's sorta sad.

I think the future of MU is at risk if Pinkel stays. There is no good that can come from Pinkel staying beyond this point. Can the next guy be as bad or worse? Sure.

But the next guy could also be better. Pinkel isn't going to be better than himself. He just won't be.

I don't even think Pinkel wants to coach at Mizzou anymore.

I'm waiting for an announcement anytime...

A lot of debating back and forth on the pros and cons of Pinkel as coach. But, the bottom line is WHO can Mizzou get to replace him? I feel a lot safer believing this year was an anomoly with an incredibly tough schuedule (excluding the Syracuse abortion), than just taking a flyer on another coach/staff just to appease the chicken littles of Mizzou nation.

Swapping out coaches is a huge decision, almost always followed with more losing seasons. Just ask Colorado, Kentucky, Tenn, and Kansas. A&M's success with a 1st year coach is very rare indeed.

Who the frick do you think Mizzou can hire that would be a slam dunk upgrade over Pinkel? Especially with 4 other SEC schools already scrambing to make that same impressive hire.

I agree. Its very easy and simple for people to look past other factors and go straight after the coaching staff. There is zero reason for Mizzou to throw their hat into an already crowded ring looking for a head football coach.

I'm for giving Pinks another year to prove us wrong...to prove that this year was an anomaly.

However, I'm not sure he wants to coach at Mizzou any longer. He may resign.

What then?

Do you want a coach who is clearly at odds with his boss? If he's not willing to make staffing changes and stay the course...do you believe that come next year we'll do much better?

I dont buy into all the rumors man. Much nonsense and unfounded BS floating around the interwebs. Mubobby makes a post and then its treated like gospel and people form opinions about whats happening internally based on that. It really is kind of silly. That guy was wrong about the Big Ten move, he was way wrong about Matt Painter.

I have said it a couple of times, the only thing that really worries me about Pinkel is his ability to recruit talent at a level that can sustain success in the SEC.

I'm not basing my projections off of MUBOBBY. However, I do feel that there is now a disconnect between Pinks and Alden.

Fact of the matter is that there was an entire season of highly questionable play calling. His personal life is in termoil. The rumors of Pinkel out 2-3 times per week drinking are true simply because there is photo evidence. He could've spent some of that time trying to figure out a way for Mizzou to win games. The divorce and other woman can't be overlooked. DWI.

shite...a lot of negative stuff has happened this year and I think it affected on field play. Does it change next year? Million dollar question.

I'm not convinced it gets better next year.

If the team is healthy, things will be better next year.

Could things be better than that? Yea, if we could get our feet under us recruiting. Talent level and depth are the reasons for concern not everyone's obsession with Pinkels personal life.

...and staffing issues. I'm sorry but I do not believe that Yost is the OC to take Mizzou to the promised land.

Nothing can convince me differently.

Otherwise, I mostly agree with your statement above.

I'm not obsessed with Pinkel's personal life except insofar as it affected his job performance. And I think that it quite likely did.

Alden is a sharp guy. He knows that coffee-fetch surfer boy isn't an SEC-level coordinator. So whatever mubobby says, I can almost guarantee that there's been discussions about it between Pinkel and Alden. I frankly think Steckel is a Peter principle hire as well, but it's not as glaringly obvious.

Steck definitely needs to go too.
