Maybe I do.

Indiana happened because of a team of lesser quality (than Mizzou's previous years)...decided they could show up and win, despite missing their best player and top 2 WR's.

Granted, that Indiana team is a shell of what is getting blown out now...and yeah, they're on their 4th string QB...

But Bama lost to ULM at home in 2007...and I believe they were allowed to remain in the league. Va Tech lost to James Madison in 2009 but won the ACC and went to the Orange Bowl.

It sucks...but without that loss...this team may not have won 7 more games.

I apologize to no one

I will start by saying that I count my blessings every single day...that we joined the SEC. The passion, the history, the bat-shite lunatic fans...all of it.

I apologize that we don't bring much to the table in terms of national perspective. I apologize that we might cost the entire league a chance at the playoff. I apologize that we don't have a long tradition, or hell...even really tradition. I apologize for our Nike uniforms, our "high school stadium" and even some of our over-zealous fans on boards like this, who quite frankly..haven't been here...and don't know what it's like to win.

But I apologize to no one for winning.

Not one of you.

The goal is to score more points than the other team. The goal is to win the games that are put in front of you. We won the games that counted when nobody else gave us a second though. Again, that's the rules, and that's how the road to Atlanta is setup. We played by the rules...and no matter how good or bad the east was...we played good enough to win, time and time again.

I apologize to none of you for ruining your Saturday, or even your football watching lives...as these black and gold yankee assclowns keep stealing the property that is obviously not ours.

We left our own conference as the most hated program around, and were the single biggest target of those who felt we ruined college football by taking away some of the biggest rivalries.

But again...that is for somebody else to worry about.

I apologize to no one.

See you in Atlanta.

I'm sure it will.

But compared to the games we've won the past couple of years...these next two seem pretty easy...especially considering we're finally healthy.

Wait..Tennessee beat Kentucky bad. I better take that back. Everybody's right. We suck and will be lucky to even keep it within 4 TD's
20-4 the past 2 seasons.

4 straight road wins vs. top 25 teams

Ran for 340 vs. Tenn last year

Beat them in KVille during our worst season in 10 years

Finally healthy

Top 20 defense with a possible #1 overall pick

Yes...Tennessee is very scary

PS - Indiana won on a bullshite PI call on 4th and 20...a game Markus Golden didn't play in.
Neither team is all that great IMO.

We deserve all the shite thrown at us (for losing to Indiana), but to be fair...with Golden out, all IU did was run away from Ray. With those guys on either end...no way they end up doing that.

Regardless...We had 1/2 our O-Line out, we were trotting out walk ons at Wide Receiver, in a scheme that demands big, tall WR's running all sorts of crazy arse routes. Also, our best running back was out for 1/2 the game as well. (The guy that scored all 3 TD's)

We're not going to win the East, and we may not even break 7 wins...but in a transition year...we've learned how to win, which is something we couldn't do worth a shite from the 60's through about 7 years ago.

We'll never be Carolina's main rival, but I do enjoy pissing everybody off.

See ya'll in hell.

Beating a carbohydrate is nothing to brag about

Missouri will lose to UCF

Spot on.

PS - I can't tell you how thrilling it is for everyone to sleep on us. We don't do so well with expectations traditionally, so this is just fine by us.

Go ahead and mark us down for a W if you play us. We stink. Awful. Putrid. Suprised we are even allowed to sport a team.

Just a bunch of noobs who are happy to be here.

Kid has a lot to learn and still making some silly youngester mistakes...but Maty Mauk is on pace to match or top Chase Daniel's records at Mizzou. To do so against SEC defenses even to this point is ridiculous, and bodes well for our future.

Looking forward to the dogfight in the east this year. I don't see us making it out alive...but nice to at least be in the discussion after such a crappy debut 2 yrs ago.

PS - Also like to mention in every thread I can how happy I am we aren't in the Big 10.
After losing a billion yards and TD's at receiver...using a new starting QB and losing two of the best defensive players in years...I'd say things are going very well.

Not delusional enough to make my reservations for Atlanta...but this is what great programs do when they are in a bit of a personnel lull. Rely on your stars (Murphy, Golden etc) and gut through each week.

Still expecting 8 or so wins...but been very pleasantly surprised so far.

Mauk will be one of, if not the best QB in the SEC in 3 years. /NotBoldPrediction
Remind him that his favorite 9-time Big 12 basketball champions got beat by the 2nd best team in the SEC a few weeks ago. :spank:
I find it funny as hell that absolutely nobody realizes Mizzou has beaten A&M 4 out of the last 5 times they've played.

Appreciate the comments though. I'm with ya on everything else.

PS - After next year, not sure it's going to seem like football not playing you guys all the time. Seems like we've been connected at the hip for some time.
Concur. Auburn fans we were around all day were excited, and respectful fun to be around. It's been ages since I've gone to a Mizzou road game ;) and had that much fun with the opposing fans. I'm sure they'll hate us eventually for something..but for the most part...I think both groups of fans were just pretty excited to be there.

Good luck to them against FSU.
This thread is amazing.

1) It's called a neutral court for a reason. At tourney games, the crowd generally roots for the upset regardless of who the closest team is...Of course there will be tons of Louisville fans there, but there will also be fans of 7 others teams as well. I'm far more worried about the team on the court, than who is cheering off of it.

2) Others might, but no way would I "beg" SEC brethren to cheer for us. We're still outsiders, and most likely will always be outsiders...and that's fine, I'd rather it be that way. The entire "SEC brotherhood" thing is creepy anyway. Yes, this league is all powerful and competition second to none, but it's also full of more douchebag fans than any collection of humans on earth. Lots of fun, but not exactly something to give you hope for the future of mankind.

3) Nothing anybody says here or anywhere else online will ever do the kansas-Missouri rivalry justice. You just have to see it to be a part of it to understand it. Personally, I don't expect anybody else to get it, so saying it's "no big deal" doesn't bother me in the slightest. Not here. Not anywhere.

Just note there aren't too many other rivalries that are based on mass murders, hangings, beheadings, firing squads, burning people alive and raping the opposing team's kin folk in front of their families. The Michigan/Ohio St rivalry was stoked by a land dispute between two factories. Duke and Carolina share DMV offices and countless neighborhoods. Missouri and kansas shot hot lead at each other for 7 years, culminating in the burning of lawrence to the ground, in retaliation to kansas assholes killing 200+ women and children in a jail collapse.

The fact that both schools have traditionally suck far away from the media spotlight simply means that the hatred and anger goes beyond scoreboards or what color shirt you have on.

It's real.

There's no way for you to understand it. You just have to see it for yourself.

PS - UK fans, enjoy your NIT game this week. Hopefully all 2,000 Bob Morris fans will be cheering for you rather than against you.

Agree that things need to be shaken up. But unless you have a home run in the wings...and I mean a HOME RUN...you're risking absolutely everything.

Besides...I didn't see them losing the team as much as I did lack of leadership on the field. It was in crunch time against Vandy, Syracuse and Florida when things went bad. We were in position to win each of those

Our fans are insane

Seriously, some of ya'all have lost your goddamn minds. (Either that or you're 15 years old...one or the other).

"Keep looking for a coach til you hit a home run"

"Don't accept mediocrity"

"Staff has obviously lost the team"

And it goes on and on and on.
Syracuse is 1-4 away from home.

Louisville was the absolute worst 9-0 team in the history of sports...including high school teams and some pop warner teams. Just an awful, brutally easy schedule.

In a related note...I like the new cocky A&M. Way different than the A&M I knew for years in the Big 12.

Making any predictions about this year's team based on the performance of last year's team (or even older teams) is comparing apples and oranges.

I know it is..but experience counts..especially in a really unique/hostile environment such as yours. All in good fun.
