I'm not saying Pinkel has to go. He has earned the right to try to fix things, whether it's Yost, Steckel, depth, the QB situation or whatever. But the risk they run if they don't get things fixed is that kids are fickle. I have a 7th grader who is all things Mizzou. Our family room becomes a shrine on game days as he pulls everything he owns with Mizzou on it, from his blanket to his trash can. He never misses a game and if he has his own game he makes damn sure the game is recorded so he can watch it the second he gets home. For the Texas A&M game, he didn't even record it. Lost complete interest in the team. Now he is far from a recruit, but it is a glimpse of how these kids react. Whether its a tv set or a recruit, if they don't rectify things and give the public more than "What we do works" who knows how many more they lose out on.

Mizzou has not been known as a brand that attracts bandwagon fans. Most fans are alum or have family alums, or they have strong state loyalty. I think reedus is spot on regarding the younger fans losing interest if Mizzou does not perform well.
While Mizzou has not had a good, much less stellar, inaugural year in SEC football, maybe it is a blessing in disguise. Things might not have been much better in former conference. At least this way, some of the bad is deflected in media as result of move to SEC and SOS.
I am willing to give Pinkel the opportunity to improve; but he also needs to be willing to locate and make improvements where needed.
