Derek Barnett was going for Reggie White's record yesterday (yes, that Reggie White). He needed 2 sacks and has played like a man on fire the last several weeks. I thought for sure he'd get it this game but Mizzou held him to only 1 sack which really is saying something (even with our lack of DTs/forced use of DEs there Barnett was getting sacks). Even Bama's vaunted tackle couldn't stop him.

From my perspective, it looks like your OL situation has been greatly helped. DB has been triple teamed and still gotten by but not yesterday.

One question for you: Do you have a QB coach on staff? I really do see a lot of potential in Lock. He's got a live arm but no accuracy/touch and I think a QB coach could improve that. I think it's hurt Dobbs for us not to have one on staff too. (Damn NCAA and their limits).

Ok one more Q - assuming your RB comes out of this with a minor penalty, how long does he have to play?

Crockett is a true Freshman, if that's your question.

Elarbee, our OL coach, has been a huge bright spot. Our OLine had little experience coming into the year. They've done nothing but improve.

Wow. I know we don't have DTs right now but still. Kid is a baller. And as a true frosh will be a baller, imo.

Can we borrow him? Does he teach zone blocking? :)

The OC is also the QB coach. He developed some good QBs at Oklahoma.
There's also a grad assistant that played QB for Vandy a couple years ago.

Eh, I didn't mean it like that but with the way DB has been playing it says a great deal about your OL.

Yeah we've had the grad assistant thing going with Dobbs but it just hasn't worked. Our OC has been stuck helping the OL which is where he's needed most. I think a real QB coach could've done him so much good. Kid has the arm but that accuracy issue -- SMDH.

UT fans had Cutcliffe (aka the QB whisperer) so we always wonder what he could do with a guy like Dobbs. He'd probably have a field day with Lock too.

There's an OL coach at Illinois, goes by the name of Ricker, he can go to UT and teach "zone blocking."

Like someone else said, find a guy named Ricker but don't hire him.

Our OC is the QB coach; he was a pretty good QB in his day......Heisman runner-up.

Ricker is not at Illinois. He and the rest of that staff were fired before the season.

Need someone good there. I love DT QBs and we have another in the works but we need to be able to block regardless. Mahoney whipped them into shape last season and when they block well the offense looks great but damn they've been dreadful this year and the year before.

I tell you what, we'll trade OL coaches with you. Heck, we'll even throw in our DC and most of our defensive coaching staff. I know, I know, its a great deal. Act now and we wull add our women's volleyball coach at no additional cost.

Henson is an offensive analyst for Oklahoma St.

He went a bridge to far as an OC, especially since he decided to not hire a true QB coach. That being said, MU started putting linemen in the draft after his arrival in 2009. He was a good recruiter and a good position coach. He will catch back on somewhere.
