Transferring his Senior year from Michigan. Had a knee injury, but cleared to play. Harbough attempted to process him, medical waiver. Originally a 5 star from Kansas City. 6-3 315 DT.

Should Mizzou be interested?

Only because we need depth at the position now. Beyond that, if he wasn't good enough to crack Michigan's starting rotation, not sure I'd want him on Mizzou's roster. Having said that, with HB out, I'd give him a flyer....though I guess it would add to the scholarship issues. I think we're still one over the limit right now already.

Nevermind. I wasn't thinking. He couldn't play this year anyways. Not sure I'd be interested. 2 years to play 1.

Why not? Could be in a position to graduate. If so then he could play.

He's not in a position to graduate yet so he'd have to sit out a year. At least that's what the current info on him is.

I read an interview with him earlier where he said he'd probably have to transfer down as he only has 1 year left and doesn't have a degree yet so he's a 2 for 1 guy. If he can apply and successfully get a run-off wavier, then sure, I'd love to have him, but those are very rarely given out.

I don't think it has everything to do with him being 'good enough' to crack Michigan rotation.

New coach wants to work in 'his guys', flush out as many old guys as possible.

Investing in a guy who has one year left, and injury history isn't what new coaches like.

If he's eligible to come to Mizzou, and we can bring him aboard, I don't see why not.

*Guess it would be pretty difficult for him to be eligible to play this year?

He played, but not much, the last couple of years under the prior regime. Now, that might have been due to injury. Not sure.

If he's eligible because of that run-off rule, then I would love to get him, if he can play this year. This year is our problem.

Next year at DT, we'll have:

Brantley
Beckner (plus a years experience)
Logan (with a years experience)
Hatley (senior season)
Augusta (senior season)

Plus the guys who will redshirt this year being in a position to start looking for some snaps. That's why I was thinking we need him this year, not next year.

Yeah, definitely not interested if he has to sit out a year.

Went to school with him. Wish he'd come to Mizzou but according to ESPN we aren't on his short list. Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Washington State are in the running as well as a few others

Unbelievable, how in the hell can a DT not have us on his shortlist, but he has Okie Lite and Washington State? Ok maybe Washington State if Alex Grinch was his original recruiter, but if you only have 1 year to play, you gotta know Kul can teach you the most.

Those were the only schools Michigan approved from what I saw.

You do NOT want to invest 2 years of scholarships on a person who can only play one year. Assuming of course he is actually healthy and good enough to play for Mizzou.

Yes, he was a highly rated high school kid, but he didn't play much at Michigan for two reasons...health issues and skill development issues.

I believe he only has one year remaining. If he tries and gets the same hardship be pushed out by a coach that DGB tried to get he could play this year.

I think this is a perfect scenario for this rule

Harbaugh has said he didn't think it was in his best interest to play football and urged him to sign medical scholarship. Pretty sure that is a pretty good reason for the "run-off" rule.

Just read that concussions including 1 this Spring were an issue. Guess I can't blame UM, after they were criticized for playing that QB who had his bell rung once too many.
