He took the time off to pick the perfect job. He's an analyst right now. LINK

Tennessee and a&m fans are already hoping to land him. We would need to pay him a whole lot. Sterk seems willing to pay and the SEZ project should help but we definitely don't have their facilities or fan support.

We aren't getting Chip Kelly. If he wants to coach, he will have better options.

I hope he goes to A&M actually. That's one less school we have to compete with if it happens.

You're probably right but a boy can dream.

I'm not going to sticky a thread this early. We all want BO gone (or most of us) but I still don't know that Sterk would pull the trigger this quick. If we get to 1-11, I will definitely sticky it.

I'd like either Lincoln Riley, Dave Aranda or Jeremy Pruitt

Riley is already the HC at OU good luck on that.
I would rather the next coach have some experience as a HC.
Either find a P5 coach that's not happy where he's at, or find a mid major coach that has spent time on staff at a P5 school.

Oh shite, I totally forgot about Bob Stoops leaving and Riley getting promoted to HC.

Wilson does have a good resume. Has been under the fire of SEC competition and thrived. Has a bit of experience as a HC with success.

Please no Applewhite. We have to keep putting the Big 12 mindset further behind us, not keep embracing it.

Wilson just signed a 5yr extension 3 weeks ago. I think Carey from Northern Illinois gets a good look.

Wilson's buyout is only 1.2 million, that's the only thing that matters. That's pretty affordable to a school like Mizzou.

Wilson's buyout at 1.2 and Odom's at 1.2.

That's doable, with about 3-3.5M a year and a high buyout on Wilson's deal.

Purdue was right in their approach to Brohm. Payed him well at 3.3 million, then gave him another 3.5 for his staff.

Agree. A competitive salary for head coach and equally if not more so competitive assistant salary pool is necessary to become a good football team again. Do you want the lowest paid surgeon working on your ticker or the man who commands a price? We could be competitive again in a year or two with the right coach and assistants.

For those who don't read Tigerboard. There are a couple rather odd NFL names springing up.

From the NY Giants fan forumn, apparently Jim Sterk talked to DC and former Rams HC, Steve Spagnolo.

Another name is Panther's DC, Steve Wilks

Yesh.

Spags? He's a great DC, but he's an absolute control freak in the worst way as a HC.

I was thinking that "Mentally" he's not ready to leave UTSA. , since they went through the trouble of making him the highest paid in the conference. He may show loyalty and stay for at least 2 yrs. Maybe.

Loyalty fades pretty fast when your salary is tripled and you jump from CUSA to the SEC
