Anyone think the Wyoming JUCO guy will be a difference maker?

No. There are rarely 5’s that are difference makers. Mizzou has o e of the more talented 5’s in college basketball and he’s not a difference maker. One of Brown or Jackson needs to develop into the 3 level scorer that Mizzou is currently missing.

I am betting he’s here longer than that.

If we dont make the tournament this year or next, I don't see how CM survives.

I like CM a lot. I hope he figures it out. To be this far in and non-competitive against top 25 teams is a joke.

His buyout is something like 6 million after the 2021 season. Take the over.

I saw an article about similar types of rebuilds in basketball. Almost all took 4-5 years. Before they had a team that was a consistent threat to make the tournament

Duh. That is exactly why he gets this year and next to make the tournament.

Which that kind of buyout I am betting he will be here beyond 2021. Tony Bennett made 1 tournament in his first 4 seasons at Virginia. Cuonzo has already done that.

Ok it took Bruce Pearl 1 years to make his first tournament at Auburn. 4 years for Howland at Mississippi State.

Cuonzo has all those coaches beat already, and did it with his best player hurt.

This is really about a style of play that you don’t like.

"Cuonzo has all those coaches beat already, and did it with his best player hurt."

If he gets credit for making the tourney in 1 year from a terrible team, does he get credit for turning a good team into a bad to mediocre team the following years? It seems logic would dictate yes since he showed he should be able to turn it around in any 1 year period.

You can make whatever standard you want. The only coaches that have proven that they can completely turn over their roster and maintain their success are at Kentucky and Duke. Mizzou has never recruited at the level of those 2.

So you are dodging the question? Why not hold him accountable? He makes enough money that you shouldn't feel bad about it.

For the record I don't really think Martin is to blame fully for how bad the current program is under his watch but I am also smart enough not to give him credit for the tournament appearance.

I’m fine with the job Cuonzo has done so far. His coaching job in season 1 was really impressive. He just doesn’t play a style that casual fans enjoy.

West Virginia fans love that defensive style and by the way we will play them in the B12 challenge. WV just recently beat Ohio St. with that boring style.
