Victim says fear of media and community backlash as reason of not pressing charges.

Well, that's not cool.

I was hoping it was more of a misunderstanding/argument.

Sounds like it was more than that.

I would still expect a suspension and he is deserving of one. But with not being arrested it will probably only be 2-3 games. He will be back by uSC.

I agree. Sadly this is feels like something where we will never actually know the whole/true story.

It might have been better if she did, he may have been cleared, but then it wouldn't have mattered because he would already be gone. Funny how things work.

(and yes he could have been convicted too)

Same link also says Price has been dismissed from the bball team

He's not going to be able to stay out of trouble, I'm not happy about this. Be gone already.

That's a shame if true. Suppose I will be glad he's helping the team. Not that my opinion matters one single bit, but he'll be a tPOS in my mind unless something comes out indicating he had nothing to do with hitting this gal. Having said that, I hope he's a Heisman winning tPOS.

Its making our program look very dirty right now, big cloud over it because of Dgb being a fricking moron.

Had DGB been an unheralded walk on, he would have already been quietly dismissed, of course had that been the case, these infractions would have barely gotten a single line in one of the local papers by a beat writer. Not a soul outside the state of Mo would have even noticed.

The spotlight is on DGB and he simply needs to learn to live and conduct himself accordingly since it always will be until he is either an NFL star or one of the many "could have beens".

In year 1 with the team DGB is caught in a parking lot with 3 other players and there was pot in the car. DGB gets a ticket for trespassing and serves a 1 game suspension.

In year 2 he gets arrested while on winter break in his hometown because there is pot in the car he is sitting in. He cooperates fully with the investigation and police clearly say that he has nothing to do with the drugs and there will be no charges filed.

Just recently he gets involved in an altercation with his girlfriend's roommate. The intensity of it prompts someone not in the apartment or involved in the incident to call the police. His longtime girlfriend and her roommate don't want to get him in trouble (for whatever reasons) so they don't cooperate or press charges. This time the police say he was there and involved in something but they don't have enough evidence or witnesses to charge him with any crime.

After being in Columbia for 2 years he has had 3 brushes with the law that have resulted in a grand total of...

a trespassing ticket, proof he found himself a good woman, and a distinct lack of common sense.

I mean, I am outraged about his lack of common sense but I need to know if I need to upgrade my rage as compared to the normal level of stupid crap college students do.

Personally, trespassing enrages me already because... Damn it.. get off my lawn! But even then, kicking him off the team seems a bit harsh to me.

After reading the report I am not sure I want this guy on the team. It sucks but it is the truth. DGB's girlfriend talked the victim out of pressing charges by saying without football he would be living on the streets or in prison. Sent a text claiming DGB dragged her by her (girlfriend) neck and later denied it saying she had been drinking that and didn't remember. Read the Matter article. Disturbing stuff..

That article makes me sad. What a waste of his talent. Thug mentality. What a shame.

Zero tolerance from here on out. One toe out of line, and he's gone.
